I had thought I was the only one who watched Neighbours, but as the result of another thread I realised I am not alone.

So I would like to admit that "my name is Auntpetunia and I am a neighbours addict! ?
Anyone else?

I am soppypreggyloon and I too am a neighbours addict!

I have been since I was a teenager. I sky+ the lunch time one so I can watch when I get home from work as I can't wait till 5.30. I usedto get very angry wen it was on BBC and stopped for Wimbledon etc.

I'm not ready to seek help yet! Blush

auntpetunia · 21/04/2011 09:13

Anonacfr. Neighbours and Home & Away addict. Grin

And guys.... TASH FAKED A PREGNANCY FFS!!!! Most dramatic soap storyline and they're letting it slide!

I was at Primary school when Neighbours hit our screens in the mid-1980s. We got addicted in the summer holidays and then my Mum used to tape it for us as it was on at 9.30am and 1.30pm.

All of our friends used to bundle round to our house until the bbc moved it to 5.30pm.

I stopped watching for over a decade but have got into it again recently. Luckily my siblings were on hand to bring me up to speed.

Welcome fellow addicts.

DarkVictory · 21/04/2011 18:28

My name is DarkVictory and I have a dark secret I don't tell people about.

I too am a neighbours fan. Have been since Jason Donovan & Kylie's days. I also watch Home and Away.

I do not ever watch Eastenders, Corrie or anything else - shudder - far too grim and real lifey.

At last I feel accepted!

vmcd28 · 21/04/2011 18:31

Yup, another neighbours addict here... Also remember the glory days of Scott and Charlene as an Aussie teenager in the 80s. Then stopped watching it in my twenties, thought it was hugely uncool. Moved to London and got addicted to Eastenders [loved Tiffany and Grant, Bianca and Rickaay, etc]. Again thought neighbours is too relentlessly cheerful, superficial and deeply embarrassing. However then after about 8 years of committed Eastenders watching I began to find the storylines and set drab, miserable and depressing. Got back into neighbours at lunchtime stuck at home with a new baby. Now 2 years on and definitely addicted... It is my guilty pleasure [along with spending way too much time on MN and on-line shopping!]

TortoiseVEasterBunny · 21/04/2011 20:56

Another addict here too. Grin

IWillNotNeverEatATomato · 21/04/2011 21:09

Me too,
have been a fan since the first episode was at secondary school at the time and we were allowed a Neighbours lunch club to watch it at school as it was only on at lunch times when it first started (as I am sure hardened fans recall)

also love Home and Away but missed a few years worth when it first moved to channel Five as where we live couldn't pick it up.

they are the only soaps I watch, used to watch Eastenders but stopped watching over 10 years ago

crockydoodle · 21/04/2011 21:15

Me too, and now my 14 yr old and 12 yr old are hooked too. Have been watching faithfully from the start

schroeder · 21/04/2011 21:58

Yep, I even remember the original Scott [bublush] vaguely.

It's always set to record in our house.

I'm such a sucker-I actually thought for a moment tonight that Andrew and Summer were going to smooch in the middle of the street and get together! [duh] Characters have to SUFFER, they need to be tortured for ages before they can ever get together and then it won't last.[busad]

[bugrin] [busmile] [buwink]

[bublush]

DandyDan · 22/04/2011 00:04

I've watched since the start, and our teen kids have always watched too.

MigratingCoconuts · 22/04/2011 08:30

I am another long time addict. I sky+ it at lunch so that I don't have to rush the kids through their tea to watch it [bublush]

auntpetunia · 22/04/2011 11:34

Gosh I didn't realise we were so many, welcome fellow addicts.. okay so why do we love it so much.

The plots are flimsy to say the least and some of the acting is very poor so what is the draw?

TartyMcFarty · 22/04/2011 19:32

Addict. Busy watching on 5*

SciFiFan · 22/04/2011 22:05

My name is SciFiFan and I am a Neighbours addict. I too remember watching the first episode and have been hooked (barring about two years in my twenties) ever since.

Is there any sort of 12 step programme or are we happy addicts [busmile].

Bathsheba · 23/04/2011 08:45

My name is Bathsheba and I'm a Neighbours addict.

caz1010 · 23/04/2011 10:09

Ps when did Toadie get so hot?

vmcd28 · 23/04/2011 13:28

I know loads of people who think Toadie's hot too....but I can't seem to forget about his mullet

schroeder · 23/04/2011 14:06

Toadie is not hot.

In fact there is a distinct lack of attractive blokes at the moment, although I would not kick Lucas out of bed [buwink]

auntpetunia · 23/04/2011 15:23

Toadie is sort of hot when did he get soo thin.?

OP posts:
TartyMcFarty · 23/04/2011 22:22
