I'm sorry but the 'fight and fcuk in the first five minutes' maxim was not meant for supposed 'quality' television. And for all the defense of 'realism' how could anyone not laugh when every muff on show had a very 21st century 'brazillian'. FFS!

Enjoyable hokum. I have 2 questions:

  1. Why is it absolutley integral to the artistic vision of something that we see women totally naked all over, but never a man's penis? It always really pisses me off.

  2. Did Roman women really do their lady-garden's like that?

  3. Did Octavius really undertake a journey to Gaul with a horse? And if not, why the f**k do they have to do that?

Agree it's not a patch on I Claudius.

The lady-garden debate is irrefutable that it's compromised tosh IMHO. Modern acting is getting ever closer to the oldest profession.

Oh was it not good? I forgot about it but have set it to record next week - saw the last 10 minutes or so.

Caligula - almost saw a willy towards the end but camera conveniently cut to something else just as it panned to it! Not that I wanted to see it - they are not the most attractive thing in the world are they?!

Yes, there were some nobs but they were hardly featured as much as the mighty boosh's (which again weren't so mighty).

Was a bit disappointed though will keep watching in case it perks up.

However...WHY is it that every woman in it was either a total victim being rodgered by any passing male OR a scheming bitch?? PMSL at the ultra-groomed muffs but good to see Attia displaying a good pair of hips plus cellulite!!
