Just how shite an actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers was. I've only watched a few of these and while they are enjoyable old pants, his performance is actually laugh-out-loud funny for much of the time. I also love the tudor soldiers exclaiming "oh shit" and "fucking hell". Great stuff!

I watched the last series purely to see Mr Rhys Meyers naked butt , a lot .

Oh yes he's past all that now, he's had some lines drawn on his face with eyebrow pencil very old now, with a gammy leg so he's not getting his arse out any more.

One of the main reasons I have stopped watching is the "just for men" look he is sporting now !

Yes! And don't forget he's talking in his Old Mans Voice now which is actually like Patti or Selma from The Simpsons.

He is dreadful. And I just can't warm to him after reading once that he battered his girlfriend, though she dropped the charges. Twat.

The "aging process" they've employed in this series is hysterical - triple the amount of hair on a man and he is magically two decades older.

JRM is without a doubt the shittest actor that they could find (anyone seen Matchpoint, I rest my case). He sounds like he's trying to do a bad Anthony Hopkins impression quite a lot of the time. God knows how he gets work, he must be cheap.

I only discovered it a couple of weeks back, which is great as I'm downloading them series by series and can watch several at a time.
It's hilarious.
I love the random sex scenes and highly charged dancing, and JRM veering into an Irish accent every so often.

I love the fact last night that her Royal Joelyness was the one tending to King Selma Henry's gammy leg. Is this supposed to show what a decent old sort she was?? I thought that upper class laydeees couldn't even dress themselves let alone administer a poultice to an open sore

Apparently, it's an Irish/Canadian production which explains the accents,and that the actor who played Thomas Culpepper was a Canadian (his eyes really were incredible)
Prince Edward is v obviously Irish, and JRM's Irish accent was even more apparent than usual in last night's episode (which I thought was the worst so far!). Those scenes of Boulogne looked like something from television 20 years ago. Don't seem to be able to stop watching though!

I just finished watching the entire series 4. Just wait to you see the last episode. V shite acting but I actually had quite a few tears in my eyes.
