have watched the previous two programmes (ambulance and bus driver) and they have been really good.
Tonights looks as though it'll be pretty harrowing though...

I was also brought up sharp by her comment about expecting/hoping things to be more 'natural' there, but what doesn't seem to have occured to her (yet - am halfway through) is that a city hospital birth will be seen, in this poverty-stricken country, as Progress. It will be viewed as a step up from doing it in the countryside, at home and with no trained medical staff on hand. Maybe there are some 'traditional' births going on in Liberia, but not in hospitals, and TBH, I think this is the only naive thing she's said so far.

Of course, the rate of newborn tetanus in the hospitals is probably less than that experienced at rural, unattended births. SadSad
