clarebear4 · 28/09/2005 21:27

Bother missed it too busy watching Richard on Top Gear repeats. What happened

ssd · 28/09/2005 21:34

agree with mistressmary, couldn't bear to watch it after the 10 seconds I seen at the end of last weeks

clarebear4 · 28/09/2005 21:38

That bad was it the child or the parents?

LilacLotus · 28/09/2005 21:42

the parents forcefed the eldest boy. it was horrible to watch. he's trying new foods now.

waterfalls · 28/09/2005 21:42

Brandon Eating that fish just made me cry
bless him!!!

OP posts:
clarebear4 · 28/09/2005 21:44

I dread to think how they force fed him my two year old is a great little eater but if he doesnt want something you havent got a hope of getting it near him

LilacLotus · 28/09/2005 21:45

he gagged and everything. they are trying to put pressure on him again now

clarebear4 · 28/09/2005 21:46

I cant watch things like that I end up shouting at the parents as if they can hear me

waterfalls · 28/09/2005 21:49

Bloody idiots, it was working, why did they have to start putting the pressure on again.

OP posts:
LilacLotus · 28/09/2005 21:50

also, he IS eating quite a lot of different things now, it seems, so i don't know why they are giving him such a hard time!

clarebear4 · 28/09/2005 21:51

Power over the poor thing probably

harpsichordcarrier · 28/09/2005 21:52

futurity · 28/09/2005 22:03

I've got tears in my eyes at the end of that!

LilacLotus · 28/09/2005 22:05

bless him! he was so proud of himself!

merrygoround · 28/09/2005 22:06

Tears in my eyes too. Very timely for me as dd has suddenly got very fussy and i have been stressing about it. Although distressing to watch have to admit that I am not perfect either and can imagine how desperate you could become if your child refuses to eat. Not always easy to stand back and see the impact of your own actions, no matter how obvious it is to others.

QueenOfQuotes · 28/09/2005 22:19

what a change in him, he was such a sweet little boy.

Yes the mother was awful, but as merrygoround says it's not easy to see what you're doing unless someone points it out. Meal times had become such a flashpoint it was affecting the entire family life - did you notice the 'time out' places were used with no real problems at all (kids stayed there). So it all stemmed from the eating issue.

Amazing seeing him in the restaraunt at the end

compo · 29/09/2005 13:55

Just watched this as videoed it from last night. I symathised with the mum to a certain extent as she must have been dreadfully worried about him to go those extremes. But how could she expect to feel rational and calm about the situation when she must have felt crap when she was living on a diet of ready meals. She said that's all she ate and her husband just ate out of the freezer too
I think next week's will be interesting because they are returning to a family that it didn't work for a year on. I wonder how many other famileis that has happened to!!

Furball · 29/09/2005 14:08

Very distressing watching last night 'gooo onnn eat ittt' it was almost the sort of thing that kathy Burke would say in Gimme, Gimme, Gimme. But to be 6 inches from his face waggling a sausage, no wonder he wouldn't. Scary.

I didn't realise that people could actually stomach a ready meal every day, bleugh!

Zephyrcat · 29/09/2005 14:11

She was fierce wasn't she? I was sooo pleased when Supernanny told her that she was livid with her and was so close to pulling her out of the room. It must have been very hard for supernanny to stand and watch. Brandon is such a gorgeous little boy! I can't see his mother sticking to it though.
