LOL Just answered this, and my message disappeared into oblivion..

Will try again. Would recommend E4s 'Misfits' the secound series is currently running, but series 1 is on Amazon for only 5.99.

Very dry humour, quirky, bit scarey, bit naughty.. very English!

DuelingFanio · 26/11/2010 18:55

Weeds
Dexter
Breakin' bad

chocoholic · 26/11/2010 18:56

What about 6 Feet Under?

Snorbs · 26/11/2010 19:14

Black Books - very, very funny. I think all the episodes are on 4oD.

Itsjustafleshwound · 26/11/2010 19:15

Second Breaking Bad

DramaInPyjamas · 26/11/2010 19:17

littlerach · 26/11/2010 20:27

The Shield
Prison Break

WhatsWrongWithYou · 26/11/2010 20:30

Modern Family - we all love this (age from 9 - 49). Fab American sitcom done (sort of) in a docu style.

Also really enjoyed the first two series of Lie to Me, but finding the new one a bit meh.

belindarose · 27/11/2010 18:34

Thanks, I'll look these up. 'Black Books' is another we've seen and loved, yes.

My (grown up)DS and DD, who both loved the wire are both raving about Misfits at the moment.

KurriKurri · 27/11/2010 20:49

Oh apologies Jelly cat has already mentioned that oneBlush

dinkystinky · 27/11/2010 20:55

Have you tried the West Wing? Truly addictive watching.

CaveMum · 27/11/2010 21:59

I second dinky West Wing is the best show of the last 10 years. Cleverly written, funny, touching and supremely intelligent.

If you are looking for comedy try:
Scrubs
Big Bang Theory
How I Met Your Mother
and the hugely underrated (in my opinion) The War at Home, which was sadly scrapped after only a few series.

MagnamOfChristmasCheer · 27/11/2010 22:13

What about

Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes both brilliant.

joydivisionovengloves · 28/11/2010 16:44

The Corner
Generation Kill
The Sopranos
Deadwood
Six Feet Under

Pretty much any series by HBO is worth warching

joydivisionovengloves · 28/11/2010 16:44

watching not warching

moragbellingham · 28/11/2010 17:56

Carnivale,
Sons of Anarchy,
30 Rock,
Entourage.

Lydwatt · 28/11/2010 18:17

i was going to say 'black books' too!

going way back, how about 'northern exposure'?

Lydwatt · 28/11/2010 18:19

oh, and 'outnumbered'

CeliaChristmasFate · 29/11/2010 20:15

Mad Men, The Mentalist, Castle (kitsch but entertaining!), Medium, Lie to Me.

Raahh · 29/11/2010 20:24

'Love Soup' with Tamsin Greig (also in Black Books) is very funny. Quite poignant, as well.First series has longer episodes, but all series good.
and the 'IT Crowd'- vv funny indeed. Definitely one of the best comedies of the last few years, imo. ( after 'Outnumbered', that is)

PaigeTurner · 29/11/2010 20:27

How about Mad Men?

JebusBuiltMyHotQuads · 02/12/2010 14:01

Second Carnivale and Six Feet Under - awesome shows.

For comedy you should try Summer Heights High.
