Yes. It's so sad he's dead.

sharbie · 07/11/2010 23:29

It is.
I am so enjoying watching it with ds who hasn't seen it before.

Best tv comedy ever imvho.

We have the complete box set on dvd but I still get a little thrill of excitement if it randomly pops up on some cable channel.

Which episode are you watching?

sharbie · 08/11/2010 00:34

the hitler one and before that the plane one

Best cure for the blues ever. It should be on prescription.

FairyArmadillo · 08/11/2010 00:39

Love it. Kept me sane during last week of pregnancy when my sense of humour tried to abandon me.

lazarusb · 08/11/2010 17:53

It's the best. Not one bad character in it. Love Jack- I have several 'Jack' moments each week.Grin

Meglet · 08/11/2010 17:54

I can't even read the title without Grin.

sharbie · 08/11/2010 17:59

We call DS Father Jack as he does an oustanding impression of him for a 2 yr old.

Squitten · 08/11/2010 18:39

I love Father Ted - the one where they get trapped in the biggest lingerie department in Ireland is excellent.

My Dad hates it because he lives in exactly the little Irish country backwater that they are mocking Grin

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 08/11/2010 18:52

love it Grin Named my gormless yet comical Jack Russell Dougal Grin

nameymcnamechange · 08/11/2010 19:44

I love the one where they go on holiday to the tiny caravan "these cows are close, the others are far away" featuring Graham Norton and the sewage lorry.

I really love the one with Bishop Brennan and the rabbits.

And, of course, the Eurovision song contest. Who can forget My Lovely Horse?

sharbie · 08/11/2010 19:45

y y the riverdance - i think gn was brilliant in that one.

sharbie · 08/11/2010 19:49

When Father Stone came to stay - brilliant

TheFallenMadonna · 08/11/2010 19:49

When Dermot Morgan died I saw Frank Kelly (Fr Jack) being interviewed and he was a complete luvvie. It was most disconcerting when all you expect him to say is "drink, feck".

PaulineMole · 08/11/2010 19:50

"kicking bishop brennan up the arse" is just perfection

sharbie · 08/11/2010 19:51

oh they are all great i must get the boxset

father jack being like that in rl just makes it even funnier on screen

OP posts:
nameymcnamechange · 08/11/2010 19:55

You will never regret the box set purchase. Can you wait til Christmas? Would make an easy Christmas present for someone to get you.

sharbie · 08/11/2010 19:56

good idea or maybe i can persuade ds that he would like it for christmas Wink

Ah kicking Bishop Brenan up the arse! bliss.

I spent 18 hrs of labour with dd quoting Father Ted-it helped a lot Grin
