The valentine one with Niles trying to iron his trousers is the best one ever.

mousymouse · 27/08/2010 20:43

love it. sooo eccentric

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 27/08/2010 20:43

I love it too, it's a shame that DS is so vocal about wanting Cbeebies now if the TV is on - I don't get to watch it that much anymore!

BTW - am giving thought to changing to 80 nappies, we had a scan and we have a heartbeat in there! :)

MilkNoSugarPlease · 27/08/2010 20:47

The one where Niles Wants to get high but Martin eats the pot brownie instead is brilliant...I mean actually brilliant :o

Ali-:o Thats wonderful! Congratulations! :o I will take all credit if you namechange Wink

I have a bit of a crush on Niles even though he's utterly preposterous. Like flamesparrow says, he's a brilliant physical actor.

NB this will be on listen again til tomorrow I think

cyteen · 27/08/2010 20:48

You are certainly not the only one. I've loved it since it was first on telly, and have fond memories of the early days of DS's life when I watched series 1-4 during breastfeeding marathons :)

I long to slip the line 'Next time I'm re-entering the earth's atmosphere in a hot tub I'll keep that in mind' into conversation but sadly the opportunity never comes up.

JumpJockey · 27/08/2010 20:52

Whenever something unappealing is suggested as an activity, we go for the catchphrase "I had sooner attend a hoedown". Grin

MilkNoSugarPlease · 27/08/2010 20:55

I do like working "I'm a bit of a pickle, well not so much of a pickle, more of a Cornichon" into a conversation :o

'I see you're still waiting on that spine donor' Grin

BikeRunSki · 27/08/2010 20:56

WE recently spent a week in a holiday cottage with no TV reception, but the first 3 series (about 40 episodes) of Frasier on DVD. I have not seen any Frasier for years, they are wonderful!

HeavenForfend · 27/08/2010 20:58

JumpJockey, we say the hoedown line all the time - and I also have a long standing crush on Niles.

The only problem I ever had with Frasier was Daphne's extraordinary accent. Used to make me wince.

Hassled · 27/08/2010 21:01

I'm just at the happy stage where DS2 has discovered Frasier, so this summer we have been watching it a lot.

Niles is the best sitcom character in the history of sitcoms, as far as I'm concerned.

kittya · 27/08/2010 21:05

Its the only thing I can watch again. Forget Friends, Frasier is the ultimate!!

I can actually watch Seinefeld repeats as well. They dont make them like that anymore!

Flamesparrow · 27/08/2010 21:07

Love Frasier.

DH and I were watching a bit the other day and saying "They don't make them like this any more" [old gimmer emoticon] Grin.

gibbberish · 27/08/2010 21:10

Love, love, LOVE Frasier! Niles is hilarious. Grin

franke · 27/08/2010 21:11

I caught an episode recently and it was so beuatifully crafted I was laughing for the rest of the day. I can't remember the storyline exactly but there were several strands which were woven together at the end, one of which was an exploding shaving foam warmer which Martin had hung onto for years in the hope he'd one day use it Grin

I love the one where Frasier attempts to resurrect live drama on the radio with a production of 'Nightmare Inn' Best friend and I once watched it while stoned and almost fainted from laughing so much.

forehead · 27/08/2010 21:17

Love Frasier, i always watch the repeats on the Comedy Channel.
I particularly love the fact that Frasier and Niles are the complete opposite of their father. There is a great deal of irony in the fact that both Niles and Frasier are intellectual beings, however they feel that their father does not respect them because they are not sporty types. He however is proud but intimidated by their intellect.

BikeRunSki · 27/08/2010 21:17

I am feeling nostalgic for those skint stoodent Friday nights of "Friends and Frasier" (and cheap red wine and take away pizza).

yama · 27/08/2010 21:20

'Copernicus called and you're not the centre of the universe.'

So many one-liners.

DinahRod · 27/08/2010 21:24

Loved Maris!

Niles: [about Maris] She's been afraid to fly since her harrowing incident.
Daphne: Oh, dear... Did a plane almost crash?
Niles: No, she was bumped from first class. She still wakes up screaming

leavingonajetplane · 27/08/2010 21:25

Niles telling Martin that Maris seems to be very enamoured with a young gardener

Martin: " I wouldnt concern myself."

Niles: "Ah. You think its just a harmless flirtation?"

Martin: "No. I just wouldn't concern myself."

That "private passions" recording is great - thank Jump- glad I saw that before it disappeared. Wish you could save those things!
