So....if everyone else is allowed to do this, that and the other...where are they all?

Discovered ds 14 on his x box live at 2.15am . He is in the attic, so I can't always know what he is up to. But woke up the other night and heard him.

As a result of this, and with the kind help from the Geeky thread, we have managed to block access to internet in his room with times of our choosing

Ds not talking to me...as everyone else is allowed on until 4.00am apparently.

However he was talking to someone on it.............

So was wondering, what other things are friends allowed to do that your poor deprived teens re not allowed

I'm blundering through the teenage years with my daughter who lives with her very lenient dad. I try to have some ground rules with her and it's a struggle all the way. My son who does live with me and his dad has firm but fair rules and he's a far more content child. They need boundaries to know where they are in life.

Moski, I don't think it's what my family did that's made me who I am. It's me. I'm willing to compromise. When I was 15, my friends (who were drinking in the streets!) were going to Alton Towers, my mum wouldn't let me go (no adult, they could get hold of drink, too much peer pressure). Anyway, about a year later, the same friends ask again, I ask, and get "It's up to you."

Compromise is key.

Squirdle - he makes you tea?? How did you get him to do that??
ds1 is 15, lovely, good at school, no bother on the whole. BUT, make a cup of tea?? Only if we really force him!
I'd also definitely rather have teenage boy than girl. dd1 is 9 and i already know im going to have huge bother with her! Boys are much more laid back usually.
