College preventing progression to Y13 due to poor attendance

Yes they can and should. They get paid for children attending, if the children aren't attending they have an obligation to off role them and refuse the money for them. Their attendance figures will be looked at by the LA, and the LA won't be happy if the college is claiming for kids not actually there. Obviously if there is a reason and they can show that they were supporting the kid and trying to help them, that's different, but if not kicking them off is what they should be doing.

It's the kids who don't attend that give me the most amount of work. Chasing them, phoning parents, documenting what I've tried, working to get them to catch up if they do come in, re-bookimg exams...

If the course is accredited he won’t pass, the college won't get funding for hm.
