Do you think/know that girls your age exaggerate when talking about what they've "done" with boys? (Sorry if inappropriate Q.. but even I remember that teenage girls from 13 - 18+ ALL seems to have these convos..)

A. I think it's the boys that exaggerate, girls in my opinion seem to be more secretive about it and don't like to show off.

And I am 16.

ChocolateRockingHorse · 17/05/2008 13:53

Ah good. Didn't want to be encouraging an under 16 year old to be having such convos with anyone but her mum.. but curiosity got the better!

I think you may be right actually.. bravado v.important to boys.. whereas girls like to counsel/support each other...

A: I know some girls that do that, but they are the ones that make it up, snogging is as far as it goes with the conversations with my friends, I know my friends well enough to know that they wouldnt do anything more, If is a conversastion like that it would probably be about who has either touched our bum or boob, Which i really do not appreciate boys doing, at school you will walk past a boy from your year and he will grab your bum, Not fun at all..

My friends parents found a condom under her bed which someone had given to her as a joke.

They gave her a massive lecture and asked if she wanted to go on the pill and she was so embarrassed that she cried.

That's not funny either but it's the only thing i can think of.

ShesAllGrownUp · 17/05/2008 14:02

iCod i dont mean to be rude at all, but you are slightly judgemetal towards teenagers, we arent all complete and total idiots, we dont all hang around in big groups and threaten the people around us, and we dont all praise celebritys and we arent going to stop you from wearing the clothes you want to wear..We are only teenagers give us a break.

Ah bless her. In my teens I had a few friends round when my mum was away she was due back the next day. It was literallly 5 or 6 friends round for a drink or 10 but not a party. The next day we were airing the house out as some people had been smoking and a gust of wind blew from the back door and slammed the front door shut breaking the 6 foot glass panel. Until the day she died my mum was convinced i'd had a huge mad party and that the glass was smashed in a not so innocent way!

misdee · 17/05/2008 14:06

do you think that things are really as bad as the press makes out regarding teenage crime? because apart from some mouthy boys at the train station most teens i've met have been polite and ok.

and is there really a bit rift between townies and emo's? (from a mum who thinks her dd's are going to be split down this line)

A: I think that the news make us teenagers out to be all horrible people who slam doors and steal things and threaten old ladys, Theyre are some teenagers that are like that and i think they are pathetic,

I think there is too much overthinking with stereotypes, People should be friends with who they want to be no matter what there "label" is, i really hate when people get labled just for the way they dress..

I think that because of the pressure at school, a Emo and Townie would get alot of crap from being friends with each other,
Being a teenager is hard :|

could someone please tell me what an EMO is? I'm 32 so very old

brimfull · 17/05/2008 14:12

I think that people only hear about bad things that teenagers have done so they assume that we are all like that. Obviously teenage crime happens but they only learn it from people older than them.

And yes there really is a rift but it's all to do with music and what they wear. If all teenagers were the same it would be boring though. But i have to admit, some take it too far.

Ledodgy · 17/05/2008 14:13

Have a good time. You sound like a lovely mature girl.

misdee · 17/05/2008 14:13

do u think teachers are under pressure in classrooms?

i am really worrying about the transistion from primary to secondry and dd1 has years to go.

and is it better to be smart and unpopular or act dumb and be popular? can u have it all?

misdee · 17/05/2008 14:14

have fun lauren! (you have the same name as my dd2)

brimfull · 17/05/2008 14:16

Emo means emotional and its all about the music they listen to. Also now the way they dress.

They all claim to be depressed and slit their wrists but its all crap really.

They want to be different so they become an emo and are the same as all the other emos.

LaVieEnRose · 17/05/2008 14:18

Aaaaah I see. Are they the ones wearing lots of eyeliner, the boys as well as the girls? Blimey I'm out of touch aren't I?

ChocolateRockingHorse · 17/05/2008 14:21

Ggirl's girl.. so what's the difference between an EMO and a goth then?

brimfull · 17/05/2008 14:28

I think emo is a new version of a goth but i'm not too sure. It's all really stupid.

And also you're not AN emo you're emo. I got told this by a real life emo who told me off.

ChocolateRockingHorse · 17/05/2008 14:32

Ah right. thanks for that.

I'm very emo at pressent actually.. boohoo..

serenity · 17/05/2008 14:36

emo's wear more colours than goths
