So I am a mum of 2 girls, my oldest has suffered with mental health problems, depression, anxiety and self harm for over a year now and I found that while accessing help for her was relatively easy and there is a lot of support out there for teenagers, as a parent I was left without support! I just wanted a chat, to talk to someone who understood what I was going through and wanted easy accessible information all in the same place and I couldn’t find that anywhere!
so I have started a support group on Facebook for parents in the UK with teenagers suffering with their mental health, may that be depression, anxiety, ASD, self harm etc
its a safe space to offer each other support and for discussion and the group will be moderated to ensure it stays that way!
Please feel free to join!
Keep doing what you are doing you are amazing!! ❤️

My teen dd has been diagnosed with depression, after her first relationship resulted in coercive control, physical and sexual assault. She has been getting support from various organisations but I am so upset and sometimes struggle just with the anxiety and the worry of it all. I think this is just what I need thank you!

Glad I found this group... Hoping someone can help. I just found out my beautiful DS16 tried to kill himself yesterday.. whilst I was on an online lecture. We just returned from holiday yesterday... I feel horrified, like the world's worst mother. How did I not see?! He had seemed more withdrawn recently, but as he's always been quite introverted so I put it down to exam stress and possible girlfriend trouble.. feel like such an idiot!! Just waiting for the crisis team to visit. 24 hours ago everything was normal, now I'm not sure what to do...

parenting mental health (PMH) is another brilliant resource for parents. They have a website and a very active private Facebook page with lots of resources.

WaterWall22 · 14/04/2022 23:04

Thank you @candle18 - will look at that.

Dd 15 bad anxiety. Constant exams not helping 😠

Weekend from hell with art coursework. I hate that subject with a passion. Tears, self doubt, procrastination.

Sympathy to all those struggling.
