Does your 13yo dd wear thongs?

Apparently I’m unbelievably old fashioned... happy to accept that as actually it’s probably true... I’ve said they’re inappropriate, uncomfortable and unhygienic (like I know?) but am I wrong? Do “all” 13year old girls wear them?

My 14 year old wouldn't want to as she'd find them uncomfortable but no idea if it's common or not in young teens

madeyemoodysmum · 01/08/2019 22:53

Not string things but dd has some pink pants that are Brazilian cut

madeyemoodysmum · 01/08/2019 22:54

Pink as in Victoria secret brand not the colour Grin

chickenyhead · 01/08/2019 22:56

Erm...no, not yet! 13 is young.

Why does she want to wear them? Does she wear trousers to school and wants to avoid vpl?

MonChatEstMagnifique · 01/08/2019 22:59

Not sure it's appropriate to ask what type of underwear 13 year old girls are wearing. Please think before posting an answer.

DramaAlpaca · 01/08/2019 22:59

If I had a teenage daughter I wouldn't be discussing their underwear on here.

Pipandmum · 01/08/2019 23:00

14 and no, hipster briefs.

Oswin · 01/08/2019 23:01

Don't tell this poster about your children's underwear fgs.

Toomuch999 · 01/08/2019 23:01

What are Brazilian cut? Sorry if I’m being dim...

I think she wants them because, apparently, “all” her friends wear them. We live by the sea and they do all spend a fair amount of time in their underwear or similar at sleepovers, camping in gardens, around hot tubs and going to/from the beach etc. Normally she’s happy in shorts but has requested some to fit in I think.

I wanted to wear them from around 13/14 once I started wearing clothes that would give a VPL. I disliked my mother's refusal then and I still think 'inappropriate' is a stupid argument.

They're only inappropriate if you buy a sexy style. I'm not really sure why a teen girl wanting to wear underwear appropriate for her clothing choices is inappropriate. It's no different to me than if you wear a strapless top, wear a strapless bra.

JasperTheFriendlyGhost · 01/08/2019 23:02

nope, not at that age. There’s no need

We live by the sea so the 13 year olds spend their time having sleepovers in their thongs??? Do they have pillow fights too 🙄

I can't actually believe that some posters would talk about their child's underwear on a public talk board. WTF are you doing? Go away OP, I have reported you.

1ditzymare · 02/08/2019 21:21

I did when I was 14. I remember shopping on my 14th birthday and me and my friend excitedly buying a few pairs each! My mum was pretty relaxed though, hair dyed at 11, belly button pierced at 12. 30 now and I find the things bloody uncomfortable haha!

PickAChew · 02/08/2019 21:24

Most 13 year olds in seaside towns tend to hang around the coop, complaining how bored they are.

chickensdontpocktheypeck · 02/08/2019 21:24

Yuck.
Don’t divulge any info to a random on the net about this.

PerfectPenquins · 02/08/2019 21:25

Your names not Jessica is it?

Kungfupanda67 · 02/08/2019 21:27

@PickAChew where do you live? They all hang around campsites dancing in their underwear here 🤦‍♀️

Simkin · 02/08/2019 21:27

At the age of 45 I wouldn't go near a thong. I like a big pair of grey belly warmers. Preferably with holes in.

Cwenthryth · 02/08/2019 21:28

lol @ penquins

Are people so stupid that they can't see that this is a perv?
