Teen girls with big feet - where do they get shoes?

My 12 year old is a size 7.5, possibly an 8 (she wears my size 8's). She hasn't even gotten her period yet so I am guessing she's not finished growing. While not the tallest in her class she does have the largest size feet and it causes some tears. Especially when rotten small-footed bitches say: "oh my God how big your feet are!!!" & DD dies inside, so far size 8's are easily available but what do we do if/when they bigger??? And as an aside: any good retorts for those BIG FEET comments?

New look for me, I've been a wide 8 since my early teens and can NEVER buy shoes online without trying on first I feel her pain.

My DD is 14 and has size 8 feet - they haven't grown since she was about 12 so hopefully your DD will be the same.

DD is also embarrassed by the size of her feet and always tells people she's a 6 if they comment, although it's obvious they aren't!

It's not unusual these days though, kids just seem to have bigger feet for some reason.

New Look have been pretty good, but dtd1 has now gone past their sizing (up to 9). She mostly gets her shoes mail order, she's about a 10 now and nearer age 17 than 16 so we hope it's pretty well over.

She's never mentioned anyone making snidey comments about the size of her feet, but her sister has also got comparatively large feet (currently 8) and they stand together shoulder to shoulder about this! Also a couple of their friends are also definitely bigger than most shops cater for.

Newlook, next, most high street shops do up to 8. The Brantano shoe warehouse place do up to a 10.

Next go to a 9 some styles even a wide 9, Evans do both large and wide sizes and I think yours clothing do large and wide fit.

Worth considering that it may be more wide than long. I'm 6ft1, my feet are a size 7.5 but due to being wide with a high instep, I wear wide 9s mostly. The internet is a great source, and a surprising number if high st chain and proper shoe sops can get some larger sizes.

If it helps dd, tell her the small footed cows will be midgets while she wafts about as an elegant, statuesque women. And reminder her that many I the worlds most beautiful women are tall.

Look for German brands like Gabor or Reiker. They are very stylish, have a big selection and cater for big and wide shoe sizes.

Brantano are good for larger sizes at a reasonable price. Also buying shoes at the very beginning of the season as larger sizes seem to get sold out really quickly.

I'm a 10/11, I get shoes from Evans and Yours. You occasionally get a decent 10 in Brantano (one of my friends works there so keeps an eye out for me), but I mainly wear converse, as many of the more "feminine" designs and colours are available online in larger sizes.

DD is a 6.5-7 but she did stop growing her feet at 13 I think. She's been the same size for a couple of years now.,she started period around the same time feet stopped.
Fwiw I have small feet (and hands) and I get a lot of comments so it works both ways!

I feel her pain. I'm a size 9.5/10 and was from about age 14. Could never find shoes. Now there are some places as others have mentioned. Next size 9 (EU43) are pretty good in most styles. I always buy 2 pairs of any shoes that fit.

The other option is holiday to the USA! Extreme bit if you're going anyway take a spare suitcase.

People's feet do tend to be larger than they used to be - less constrained and in better shoes/trainers than in the past probably :)

I'm same as PP, mine never grew after age 12. It's quite common for that to be the case. My DSs feet stopped growing at 13/14 (boys are a bit later) and they've grown a lot in height since then but feet are the same size.

I would avoid converse type shoes because they are not supportive and the flat heel will not make the long foot look shorter. Try websites that sell sportswear.

To the large feet comments I suggest your daughter ignores them or just says "Pardon"

Your kid needs to be a savage and say something mean to one girl (she'll be the example). After that the others will leave her alone. I suggest "yet you're the one who stinks of feet" or "better that than having THAT face" or "pot kettle black (leave her wondering what she meant by that)". I was never good at keeping friends so ignore all I've said I'm a horrible person

I'm surprised that she gets comments :( size 7.5 is not that big IME. My Dd is 5ft 3 and wears a 7; ds2 is shorter than she is (not done growing yet!) and wears 8.5-9; ds1 wears 11.5-12. Kids feet are bigger. I wear a 5 and often get kids at school (I work in secondary) saying Miss you've got tiny feet! :) Sorry yr Dd is getting grief but she will be tall and gorge

I had this size feet at that age, fortunately they stopped there but some size 9's were around. After that I guess there are specialist shops or online perhaps?

When we were at school we had to draw round our shoe on a piece of squared paper and I was the only person who needed an extra sheet 😫
So embarrassing but I did manage to prove that I exerted less pressure on the earth as I had a larger surface area to stand on 😂 xx

Iwas a sized 9 teen in NZ in the 90s. Not sure how I ever had shoes to wear (apart from mens sneakers and unisex Doc Martens for school)

Online shopping is your friend. Order them into store for immediate returns if possible (Clarks 9s rarely fit me and they don't do an 8 and a half)

Simply Be do up to a wide size 9.

I was a size 8 at 10 yrs old and thankfully never grew any bigger though I am definitely a "big 8" in that when I was a teen and some of my friends would buy shoes from the market or boutiques they would never fit me.

I've always found New Look to be great as they go up to a 9 so there's always a bit of leeway and I have often bought size 9 there.
They also do a wide fit which is good for me.
Size 8 is really popular, a lot of the time it's the first size to go in sales.
