Teen girls with big feet - where do they get shoes?

My 12 year old is a size 7.5, possibly an 8 (she wears my size 8's). She hasn't even gotten her period yet so I am guessing she's not finished growing. While not the tallest in her class she does have the largest size feet and it causes some tears. Especially when rotten small-footed bitches say: "oh my God how big your feet are!!!" & DD dies inside, so far size 8's are easily available but what do we do if/when they bigger??? And as an aside: any good retorts for those BIG FEET comments?

Ps pity my poor ds at age 14 he is wearing size 13 shoes, his feet are like canoes!

That was unnecessary and mean. Unless you have feet bigger than a UK 8, you can't truly understand the desperation that comes from just trying to find something that fits!! There comes a point where style becomes secondary. It's a very frustrating situation.

OP - if your DD stops at a 8.5/9, then try White Stuff, their 8s are very generous.

Asda sometimes have 9s too. YY to Clark's but your best bet is probably New Look for cheap and cheerful teen fashion shoes.

With Long Tall Sally, always read the reviews! Their sizing can be a bit odd.

OP are you transferring your feelings about your feet onto your dd?
I grew tall before my feet caught up! And my tiny feet looked ridiculous....I was rather relieved when they eventually grew to size 7 but I still hate my feet to look too short in any shoe - wedge trainers were awful for this - another reason not to wear them. Long feet look elegant (think of fashion sketches - the models all have long feet), short feet can look stubby. Dh has small feet and it's the main focus of shoe shopping - to find a pair of shoes that make his feet look bigger!
So don't teach her to shoot back and unpleasant remarks with a barbed comment, teach her to love her long elegant feet, they are a thing of beauty!

At 13 I had size 9's Blush
My DB is 12 with size 10's

I've no idea how my mum managed to find shoes for me, let alone my brother now!

I meant to add that Clark's go up to size 9. In fact that's all they had in the sandals I wanted to try yesterday!

I've been a size 8 (and a bit) since I was 11, and wore very ugly shoes through my teens as a result. And this:

"I'm sorry - the demand is so great, and we get so few pairs in that they've all been sold already". And that was back in the 1980s, and it hasn't changed!

Now live in NZ so I can't offer any tips on useful shops, but tell your DD to tell the rotten small-footed bitches Grin that she's far less likely to blow over in a hurricane than they are.

I've been a wide 7.5 - 8 since I was 11 or 12 too, I was 5'4" then and head and shoulders the tallest girl in the class. I am now still 5'4" though so nothing (except my waistline) really grew after that.

No-one ever has my size in length (although in theory standard sizes go to an 8 they never have any) and if by some miracle they do they are almost always too narrow.

30 years later I still hate going to any shoe shop where I can't take things off the shelf and try them on without asking an assistant, I find that a soul-crushing experience. TK Maxx occasionally come up trumps, M&S are OK (but not very teen friendly) or Brantano, at least you can see straight away what they have.

New Look do actual size 9 (43, not 42), and also offer wide fitting.

Online, Aldo and ASOS do 9.5 and 9 - I think ASOS even offer 10 in some sizes!

Office are no good, nor are Schuh; their supposed 8s are a 41, which is more like a 7.

I feel her pain - I'm a 9 now and was an 8 as a teenager when fashionable shoe shops stopped at a 7!

As someone has already linked - 'Tall' shops such as Tall Girls & Long Tall Sally do larger shoe sizes. Although probably not what a teen wants to wear!

I am size 8, when it came to converse / Superga - I look at men & women sections.

I am sure New Look go to a size 9....as do quite a few.
