Not a taat, just a bit of positivity thrown in to this grey morning. Feel free to nc. Please do not come here to tell me how much you hate tattoos, I just want to hear about yours, one's you've seen that you've loved, and what other tattoos you'd possibly think about getting in the future. I start with mine.... I have the silhouette of shoes hanging from a telephone line on my shoulder to represent my brother who passed away (his shoes are still there and I dread the day they are removed), and a kilimanjaro silhouette on my rib to remind me of the times I climbed it (x5). Nothing huge but I love them! Not planning on any more immediately but would never say never....

Also something for my kids and gc. But something that be can added on.
Also have a dragon that my 2 eldest dc picked out.Thats on my thigh.
Maybe gemstones. Havent decided yet.

I have many more but they dont have any meaning apart from liking them

dementedpixie · 11/02/2022 18:32

I have 4. Only one of the has a meaning attached to it. The other 3 were just because I liked the look of them. I only started getting tattoos when I was in my 40s

PhoboPhobia · 11/02/2022 18:36

I have one at the moment. It’s a tree just because I love trees!

I am booked for my next one in a few months. It isn’t designed yet but I’ve sent a poem I love and he is designing one for me. My first is lovely but a bit generic. The guy who did it is such a great artist so I am leaving it to him to design.

My DH has 4 tattoos, my DD is planning on her first soon and my DS is only 17 but plans to get at least one when he’s a bit older.

My mother is horrified and thinks we’ve all lost our minds!!

DeadButDelicious · 11/02/2022 18:36

I have a devil on my shoulder ( I plan to get it covered with something at some point) A dragon on my other arm (gothic style, I love it) and a symbol representing my daughter who passed away on my right forearm near my wrist.

PhoboPhobia · 11/02/2022 18:38

I love the sound of yours @Hadharra. I’m so sorry about your brother. Kilimanjaro 5 times!!! Amazing!

Kim82 · 11/02/2022 18:41

I have four. A rose because I was 18 and finally allowed to get a tattoo - it was the first pic I saw in the tattoo parlour so that’s what I got.

The second one was a wildflower on my wrist which I got done when my dad passed away as he loved them.

The third is a matching tattoo that I got with my two sisters which I absolutely love.

The fourth is my four dc’s initials integrated into the shape of a heart that dd1 drew - the lines weren’t edited or anything so it’s exactly how she drew it freehand. That one is my favourite as it’s so personal.

I've got a rose/barbed wire round my ankle. Little bee on my boob, celtic band on my arm (that I'm getting covered in the next few months), komodo dragon on one thigh, tweety on my back, some writing on one inner arm, a running jigsaw piece on the other. A hobbit themed upper arm piece, and a brand new watercolour phoenix thigh piece (actually goes from my hip to below my knee).
Over the next year I'm planning on getting my celtic band covered with a photo realistic Spike (from Buffy) draped over a cross, my bee reworked with some flowers to go across both boobs, 2 calf sleeves (one Terry Pratchet themed and the other Stephen King), plus stars behind my ears for my living children and those that didn't come in to the world.

I have a full mendhi sleeve. The other arm has a massive Virgin Mary, a floral menudo piece and also a Victorian hand with a panther tattoo on it, with hats on the knuckles (I literally dreamt that one), I also have two forget me nots for my mum and dad (they are the dementia awareness flower). On the top of my back I have a gypsy lady with a wolf head and flowers around her. Bottom of my back I have two monmon cats in 70s colours with 70s flowers. I have a small teardrop shape mendhi shape between my boobs. And a small mendhi paisley pattern with old school roses round it on one of my ankles. It’s seems a lot written down Grin

Kenworthington · 19/02/2022 20:30

Hats =‘hate’ ffs

Iwantcollarbones · 19/02/2022 20:31

I have three. I only regret one and that’s because it’s not ‘right’: it was supposed to be the Bacardi bat but the wings are too short. It’s a lesson on not getting tatted whilst drunk/hungover.

I have my surname stamped on my wrist but my favourite one is the Chinese symbol (big in the 90’s) in the middle of my back which translates to ‘get drunk’. Can’t wait to be old and wrinkly in the nursing home and having people asks what it means Grin

My dd has a tattoo of our surname on her wrist too but it’s my actual signature which I think is very sweet.

TheGriffle · 19/02/2022 20:39

I have my star sign on my wrist, a simple Angel shape on the back of my neck, the phrase ‘Don’t dream it, be it’ on my foot and 2 Gerbera daises on my forearm (my wedding flowers) with both my DD’s dates of birth on.

I am thinking of getting my star sign covered over but not sure with what yet.

molliekaye3 · 19/03/2022 23:30

I have a minimal blueberry tattoo on my ankle.

FreezyFreezy · 19/03/2022 23:59

I only have 1. It's a daffodil and some holly leaves on my shoulder. It represents my children.

itsneilthebaby · 22/03/2022 16:33

I have 28 so far, mostly random one off pieces, but I do have my chest done and my shoulders which is starting to become one big piece. Booked in to start a sleeve soon which will tie in to the upper body ones

Waxonwaxoff0 · 09/05/2022 13:10

I have lost count of how many I've got. I've got my fingers tattooed as well so it depends if you count those as individuals when counting! Mine are all pretty random, I have some quotes and song lyrics, some generic butterflies/star type ones that I had when I was younger and various other bits. I love them all. No regrets.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 13/05/2022 23:21

Just counted, I have 43 in total if I count all my finger ones as separate.

BorderlineHappy · 14/05/2022 16:38

I have about 23 including a full sleeve.I have both my hands tattooed.
One was handpoked butterfly.
The other one is cherries.

Threetulips · 14/05/2022 16:47

I’ve been looking at ear tattoos.

I like the ones that wriggle round the side.

Id like to see any whit e tattoos anyone has tried, I’ve been advised against them as they don’t always ‘stick’ any thoughts?

Craftycorvid · 15/05/2022 20:07

One (so far) on my right shoulder - it’s my ‘power animal’ (a raven) combined with other symbols, in a Celtic art style. The artist worked to my directions and I love the results. I’m not done yet! Hope to end up quite colourful.

sickofthisnonsense · 15/05/2022 20:13

I had my tattoo done at 40.
It a simple two words in script on my wrist.

I want a Disney character done and am looking at booking an ex animator to do one in Florida.

TabithaTittlemouse · 15/05/2022 20:16

a Victorian hand with a panther tattoo on it, with hats on the knuckles (I literally dreamt that one)

I know that you corrected it to hate but I would love to see it!

I don’t have any but love tattoo art.

TabithaTittlemouse · 15/05/2022 20:16

That was to@Kenworthington btw

IsabelaYourBoyfriendsHere · 15/05/2022 20:29

My biggest is a few months old, a large haunted/enchanted castle with ivy on the turrets and little ghosts wailing out've the windows. I absolutely love it. ❤️

I also have a small crystal ball, and the intro to The Mighty Boosh ('come with us now on a journey through time and space').

Davethecat2001 · 20/05/2022 20:38

I had some new ink done last weekend.

The butterfly is an old tattoo, and I wanted the same artist to work around it.

I really like it.

bellabride · 26/05/2022 21:10

Davethecat, that's healing really well for such a recent tattoo.
Beautiful, vibrant colours.
