I've lost my hamster!

I'm actually so distressed, he's a little black and white Syrian. So tame and I let him out for a run about in the kitchen. I blocked up under the dishwasher but he's found away. He's now lost under the house! I could see him earlier and now I can't

Did the hamster ever return?

We lost our gorgeous Hamster under our house (we had suspended floors over earth). He was gone a week, I think he liked living underneath the floor.

Each day at 5pm he'd pop up for his broccoli treats, sit and munch it and go away again. Eventually he tired of it and just stayed with us after his snack.

I think our saving grace was he had a regular vegetable at 5pm when I made the children's tea.

They can be gone a while but usually come back for food.

They are greedy little critters.

Cook some fish fingers. Seriously, every hamster we've ever had has been an absolute slag for them and it is our failsafe way of retrieving an escapee

So sorry, seeing I've added to a zombie thread which had popped up on Active.

Yes zombie thread but I'm laughing at you having a slag of a hamster 🤣🤣🤣🤣@LadyMonicaBaddingham

My kids primary school hamster was always escaping in school. He would either build himself a nest in another classroom or return to the cage at night.

He'll come back out again but it may be when you're asleep. Put a bucket out with food in, make steps up to it using books. Hopefully you will come down to find him sitting in the bucket - it worked for us!

I used to use this method but with a big old fashioned sweet jar propped up at one end with food at the bottom. The hamster could get in for the food but couldn't get out.

That was my fault- I reanimated the zombie because I've been periodically checking back to see if the rodent has returned.
Annabelle69 · 22/04/2022 18:37

@CatOfTheLand I'm sure we're not alone. I'd like to know if the rodent has returned too. Talk about a cliffhanger...

Choosingtochange · 26/04/2022 13:05

Unfortunately no he never did return.
