My rabbit has eaten my uggs 😳

I can’t even be angry because I’ve obviously left them out I’m just completely 😳😳😳 I feel slightly sick.
Tell me your animals have also ruined expensive things so I don’t feel so completely stupid

We are on our third carpet for sons room due to chewy house bun! Each time we thought we'd bunny proofed the room too. 🐰🐰🐰 yes laminated flooring would the answer, but OH says we can't afford it! 🤔

Ah slightly more expensive than my uggs then 😄 there’s countless other stuff lost to the bun but this one has cut me deep! On par with my 4 year old destroying my laptop I think

Tell me about it! Skirting is stripped, carpet doesn't last five minutes, paint off door chewed.. the list goes on! :-)

CurrentBun has chewed skirting and a chair. He also made a huge hole in the underneath of our old sofa and managed to climb into it and get stuck!

PreviousBun had a preference for shirts and DH ended up with quite a few shirts with nibbled hems. She was quite good except that anything left in the floor was deemed (by her) to be hers. After a few brutal assaults on Barbie dolls, even the kids learnt not to leave anything lying around. My DM was more obstinate and refused to put her brand new leather handbag on the sideboard, despite being told several times - it was duly nibbled, and a feud started between the two of them which lasted right through to Bun’s sad demise.

Fernie I can't help but smile at your post, rings so true here aswell!! How did he manage to chew a hole big enough to climb into? 🐰🐰 Oh house buns are something else! Sons homework and reading journal all lost to bun..

He’s chewed my partners playstation 4 power lead, normally I’d be quite pleased but I bloody bought it for him for Christmas 😒
And a fair few iPhone chargers. Never the cheap £ shop ones though, always the bloody expensive ones that I buy to last!

I suppose it all goes with the territory when we get them though!

It was fun trying to get him out of the sofa, especially as he thought it was great in there.

Previous Bun did one year take exception to the Christmas tree and ‘turned off’ the lights not 5 minutes after we’d finished decorating it. Decorating it the second time round after a mad dash to buy new lights was not so enjoyable.

Dog ate the kitchen wall once. Literally a dog sized hole. He’s not a small dog.

I just this minute went to put on my favourite black boots only to find my new rescue (and turns out ungrateful) cat has scratched them to pieces 😣

My dog was scared of thunder and lightning. The only place she felt safe was under my quilt on my bed.
I left the house as usual. It had started to thunder during the day.
When I got home my poor dog had somehow locked herself in living room. She had scratched the carpet - i suppose to try to dig her way under the door. Not the smartest of dogs.
It was trashed. There were pull in it stretching just under a metre, she had actually scratched/bit a hole into it. The damage was not coverable at all! The carpet was 3/4 months old! I felt so sorry for her as she must have been terrified! But i couldnt help being ticked off quite a lot about my new carpet!

One of my guinea pigs once nibbled off all the rubbery buttons on the 15th remote.

My hamster ate:

-the carpet in my house
-the carpet in my boyfriend's house
-my wifi cable
-both my dressing gowns
-the back of the sofa
-the whole of the canvas bag my tent was in
-my duvet cover

So small but so destructive! He was a legend

Also I left a pair of very expensive shoes in the garden once (silly thing to do, I know) and they were chewed to pieces by foxes

I remember my bunny was I was a kid ate the little shoes for my Amanda Jane doll. He was a fabulous 🐇

Years ago when my DD was little she lined all her barbie dolls up at her hamsters cage. Sitting against the bars.

In the morning the dolls had no hair and the hamster had created a massive bed for himself! 😂

3phones, 2 remote controls and about 5 pairs of shoes ( Labrador)

My dog used to eat our clothes when she was little. She particularly liked my bras, and also tore a giant hole in my favourite, expensive dress, which she had to dig through the washing pile to find and destroy.
She would also eat the faces of the kids soft toys, and they would come to me in hysterics with a faceless teddy which belonged in a horror film.
She is grown up now and is an absolute dream who only chews my slippers!

Uggs are hideous and bunnies are awesome so it all works out ok!

Seriously, I had house rabbits and they absolutely trashed everything, but they were so worth it. Weeing on the carpet (right next to the darned littertray!) was the worst thing because it soaked right into the underlay and nothing would get rid of the smell. They also chewed the doors and skirting boards, ate great chunks out of the carpet, pulled books off the lowest shelf of the bookcase, went through more cables than I care to think about and had a mission to the lemon plant - It made their kisses taste lovely and lemony but it can't have been good for them or the plant!

My bun once chomped through the headphone cable on my iPod because I was listening to music rather than paying attention to her weird snorts.

A few strategically placed rugs and ornaments here to camouflage the bunnies handiwork.

I could have written that post myself littlemisscomper! The skirting in sons's room is stripped and I mean stripped; you have to see it to believe it!

Trouble is now, bun is being neutered in a week, so he can (hopefully) be bonded with another rabbit. Just hoping and praying that new bun is going to be less destructive (somehow I think not!)

Between them and the kids i have nothing nice left anymore

Maybe your bunny needs something to wear down teeth on? Can you get piles of wood or sonething?

IME it doesn’t matter what lovely tasty wood you source, or nice rabbit friendly chew toys you spend a fortune upon, the bunny will always prefer to wear its teeth down on something of yours. All such toys have largely been ignored. I now get boxes from the supermarket for CurrentBun to play in and chew which he loves, but he’s older now and better behaved. In his younger days he much preferred skirting board and sofa to cardboard box.
