Aw Pixie just reading on another thread that you can't neuter your females (age related, there I didn't say they were too old Grin )

Can you neuter the boys so they could be together?

(I know with guineas that a mixed group has only one boar. Maybe rats are more civilised?)

How is Howl getting on after his eye surgery?

ConfusedPixie · 20/03/2014 19:25

70 Grin Yes, age related Wink

We could, but our vet isn't keen to do it and tbh, we're not keen to put them under unnecessary procedures. If we did get young females next time then we'll definitely spay them, but for now we have our mischief in two cages :) We're quite impressed that our vet refused it actually, as it would have been more money for them! We spent the money we would have spent on spaying them on a new cage for the boys and the girls got their old one :)

Howl is great, thanks for asking :) The stitches are nearly all out and he's causing trouble as usual!

Oooh Cuxibamba I had a quick stalker type nosy at your profile (I haven't seen your name before)

Are you still in Ecuador?
Does that mean your guinea-pigs are proper cavies from South America, not the Essex boys that I have?
(Though GP1 helped my DD with her Amazon River project. He said , as he was historically from South America , he knew all about it. She still got an A without his help Grin . I don't think living near the River Rom is quite the same)

We need a photo of Ollies brothers - I'm interested to see how they compare to their UK cousins Wink

Unfortunately no, although they do have tons to eat here. A local expat family had brought them over as pets (with one of them dying of stress, quite understandably) and then couldn't keep them after a while.

Our rescue bunny Alice has been here for 4 weeks now.

Looks like she's settled in ok!
