You know when you've been Boden-ed...

I've been having a bit of a style crisis - too old for most of my clothes and just feeling a bit "bleah". Finally caved in and ordered a Boden dress (here) which is quite "me".

Anyway, my point is that their marketing/communications etc is excellent. I'm really impressed with how they've constructed them. Also, I had entered my card details incorrectly and needed to call Customer Services. They were excellent. I'm really impressed.

Just hope the dress fits!

I'm desperate for a new "look". I may just go full on Boden. No-one I know wears it...

that is a nice dress i love Boden . Ive just received 5 M and S dresses and I have burst the zip on one yikes a bit overenthusuastic about my weight loss i think

BelleDameSansMerci · 25/06/2010 18:50

vintage I think it's more likely shoddy manufacturing...

I an trying to buy less Boden but nothing else fits me as well. I've sent loads back to other places this week and it is doing my head in. What's that dress like then - would it do for summer hols?

BelleDameSansMerci · 25/06/2010 20:48

Hasn't arrived yet but I'll report back asap. I can't wait, tbh!

I ordered that dress in blue and I have cut the label off and worn it once but it is too baggy in the boob area. I am 34b/c, so not totally flat but I just feel like there is all this baggy material around the boob area. I got complements on the dress when I wore it though and it felt quite slimming (i think). I got a 12 and it was a generous 12 I'd guess.

but still, you'd need to be a double d to fill the boob part.

handy to know i am a 36 f

AlfredaMantolini · 25/06/2010 21:54

. I am tiny with no boobs, and Boden dresses are a dead loss on me.

Magalyxyz · 25/06/2010 21:57

I tried to leave a review on the site, to help other people! and there is only a preview button. Couldn't see a submit button. Maybe that only appears if your feedback is 100% fabtabulous.

BelleDameSansMerci · 25/06/2010 22:01

Maga I am a DD! I'm a chubby 12 at the mo so I'm hoping it will fit. I was worried I wasn't a string-beany enough for it.

Part of my style "dilemma" is that I lost quite a lot of weight after I'd had DD (I think because of lugging her around all the time) and now seem to be putting it back on again (sob). I'm too fat for my existing wardrobe and not fat enough for the old stuff I kept (and, of course, I don't want to go back to the old ones anyway).

Belle - don't fight it

I wear loads of Boden, it fits me really well and I tend to steer away from the more obviously 'Boden-ish' prints.

Magalyxyz · 25/06/2010 22:03

it should fit you well then if you ordered a 12!!

I got back down to 8 stone 12 after my youngest child but now he is four, it's like I had another couple. I've put the weight back on again. Really.must.go.for.a.RUN

blowninonabreeze · 25/06/2010 22:06

Justine was wearing that when she was on GMTV this week, I think?

Looked very nice

AlfredaMantolini · 25/06/2010 22:11

Maga, I had that problem with (trying to) leave reviews too.

cornsilk5793 · 25/06/2010 22:30

I'm a 34DD .I am just going to shop at Boden from now on.It fits me. I don't care if it's boring.

BelleDameSansMerci · 25/06/2010 22:41

cornsilk, if I like the dress I'm going to go wild next week (when I get my bonus). I'll be Boden from head to toe (well, shoulder to knee anyway).

Ali there is a thread on here somewhere in which I swore I would never wear Boden and then another one agonising about liking it!

You'd think I'd have more to worry about really.

I am going to submit myself to boden. I can't get to the shops and as Belle wisely says, life's too short to worry about what people think. (I always get compliments when Bodened up anyway)

BelleDameSansMerci · 25/06/2010 22:49

Ooooh, cornsilk what do you think of the sunflower dress?

OP posts:
cornsilk5793 · 25/06/2010 22:52

I have that dress I like it a lot. Would have liked a bit of stretch in the cotton fabric like white stuff sometimes do, but it's very nice.

ebojones · 25/06/2010 22:53

I struggle with Boden - want to love it but can't help thinking it is a little twee. I avoid the patterns and go for the plain knit. I am pretty small - 5ft and a size 8 - 10 and fit easily in to the Johhnie B Range which has some more fashionable pieces

nigglewiggle · 25/06/2010 22:59

Do you realise the sale starts next Fri?

BelleDameSansMerci · 25/06/2010 22:59

Johnnie B range?? There's more?

Woohooo!
