The arches drop after a couple of extra stone in weight . I've got a foot roller from a physio to try and regain my arches now the weight is off

kateecass · 22/06/2010 09:54

I have this and it does cause problems. I have never heard of a foot roller though. Is it working Alouiseg?

ticklemonsters · 22/06/2010 09:57

Yes - mine have gone from a 6 to a 7, my friends think I am mad, glad I am not alone. Hey ho, good excuse to buy more shoes!

FGM · 22/06/2010 10:00

size 6-6.5 pre-kids
size 7 now

problem exacerbated by lack of practice in heels. My gorgeous wooden heeled suede bunny heels are mere wardrobe ornaments now. sniff

Disenchanted3 · 22/06/2010 10:00

Thats interesting Alouiseg!

Still have a few stone to go so wont invest just yet

I have gone up a size and also mine are wider. I have hobbit feet. Sob.

brimfull · 22/06/2010 10:04

yup mine wider ,so have to go up a size

Alouiseg · 22/06/2010 10:48

I thunk it's working, it makes my feet feel lovely too

fishie · 22/06/2010 10:50

yes and my hands too so new rings. i think it is the relaxin hormone, one doesn't quite tighten back again. my arches most certainly have not dropped.

Doodleydoo · 22/06/2010 10:52

Mine are like planks, and a good .5 to 1 size bigger. I feel like crying when I look at my old shoes!

haggisaggis · 22/06/2010 10:54

Mine went from size 7 to size 8. A podiatrist told me the ligaments loosen during pregnancy which cause the arches to drop and teh feet to spread. Mine were bad enough before!

IpsoCalypso · 22/06/2010 10:58

Mine went from a 6 to a 7 and are really wide. I have to get extra wide shoes or those rather fetching sandals with adjustable straps. I am turning into my nan!

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 22/06/2010 11:01

It's not at all uncommon. Mine didn't get longer but they did get wider, which is a problem because they were already freakishly wide. Now I can't wear any of my pre-DC shoes and have to order almost all my shoes from specialist "So, you have really weird feet?" catalogues that are mostly aimed at the over-70s and contain altogether too many shoes in fetching two-tone combinations of mushroom and claret, or something similar.

The good news is that (IME) they don't get any worse after the first time.

SwansEatQuince · 22/06/2010 11:02

Yes, from a neat five to a seven over the years.

jollyma · 22/06/2010 11:11

I went up a size when pregnant w ds1. I'm a bit of a shoe fan (understatement) and was gutted to have to throw about 30 pairs of shoes. I managed to pursuade dh that i could have one new pair for every two pairs i threw away, result!

bronze · 22/06/2010 11:14

I was a 5 now 4 kids later I'm a largish 7

FellatioNelson · 22/06/2010 11:35

Yes definitely. I used to be a 5 and now I'm a 5.5 or even a 6. And they've spread.

sue52 · 22/06/2010 11:37

I used to be a 5 now after 2 children a 6 and a little bit wider. I always thought I was alone in this, its comforting to know I'm not the only one with freaky feet.

Yes, I've gone up a size and am now, for the first time, wide-fitting.

Rockbird · 22/06/2010 11:50

Yes, used to be a 5 - 5.5 and am now a 7.

OsbegaEthewulf · 22/06/2010 13:02

they haven't increased in length but have got wider and splodgier. Dh calls them my "git, big flapper feet" , the swine!

aquavit · 22/06/2010 13:38

yes, up a size. I would weep about my old shoes except that I'm also a little bit glad that I have a good excuse not to bother with mad heels anymore

Pinkmarshmallow · 22/06/2010 16:48

Ok, I'm weird. Mine shrunk. Used to be a 5, now a 4 in the same makes as I used to buy before.

tethersend · 22/06/2010 17:55

I thought I was going fucking mental.

One whole size up and a wardrobe full of beautiful vintage shoes which no longer fit.

My feet will shrink back, right?

Right?
