I have just made my first ever Vivienne Westwood purchases - am still floating!

Having loved Vivienne Westwood for years and never having dared to even try anything on, today I bought not one but two items! The woman is a genius! They look like nothing on the hangers, then you put them on and suddenly look two sizes smaller AND taller!

I bought this in black - or if not this then something v v similar. Dp VERY impressed with this one!

And a Red Label skirt with hitching up one side - I think this is it.

I am totally in love!

Apologies for all the !!! but I normally restrict my buys to Gap and M&S so this is very exciting for me.

noddyholder · 19/06/2010 20:07

noddyholder · 19/06/2010 20:07

You need heels with that

Meglet · 19/06/2010 20:10

That VW stuff will last you for ever .

Zembo · 19/06/2010 20:16

Tracey what size did you get if you don't mind me asking. Suddenly find myself thinking I NEED this dress ! Sold out in xs which I suspect is my size.

Fleecy · 19/06/2010 20:18

Zembo I know you didn't ask me but I'm an 8-10 and I got a small.

janeite · 19/06/2010 20:23

I'm normally a 12 and got a medium. I tried one like this on (but different colour way) but the 12 was vast on me and they hadn't got a ten.

Zembo - I got a small and am a 6-8. Interestingly in Harvey Nichols they said the small was an 8.

It fits me well as its super stretchy and I think I'm probably less toned than Fleecy.

Get it though - it is lovely!

The dress is lovely. I like it in red. What was teh sale price? I won't be buying but assume it wasn't £230 as per teh link??

janeite · 19/06/2010 20:33

It was a hundred pounds from Selfridges - I'm not sure if it's exactly the same as the red one, or the same as the purple one that Fleecy linked to.

OP posts:
traceybath · 19/06/2010 20:35

Its the same dress (well Fleecy and mines are) as Justine wore after the great dress hunt for election night. Think she had the purple.

said · 19/06/2010 20:41

£100 is good value. You could wear that forever really

Zembo · 19/06/2010 20:48

Thanks Fleecy and Tracey so I reckon a small should be fine for me then...oh and Fleecy forgot you're slim too, sorry! Will sleep on it tonight. Wondering if it might be in the NAP sale too?

victoriascrumptious · 19/06/2010 20:49

Very smart. Love both items

Zembo · 19/06/2010 20:52

Also Tracey what's the length like. It looks like it might be too long for me here on the HN site

Fleecy asking Tracey about this specifically as like to think of her as my body double (i.e.wish I had her body!)

traceybath · 19/06/2010 20:54

Its pretty much knee length on me zembo.

And lol at wanting my body!

Fleecy · 19/06/2010 21:32

tracey is indeed lovely and tiny! I am slim but awkward and clumsy sadly! I always thought I would become graceful as I grew up but never mind

Fleecy · 19/06/2010 21:32

Oh, think it's in the MW sale at 30% off?

janeite · 19/06/2010 21:52

It sits just below the knee on me but I am a shortie.

BingumyAndThob · 19/06/2010 23:12

Ooh- that is utterly gorgeous!

The one you linked to at 20:23 is so you ... I am very sorry for you that they didn't have a 10.

in the sale you say?

did you buy it in S?

janeite · 19/06/2010 23:17

Yup - yes the patterny one is totally me isn't it? They had a white and gold one in a ten but far too bling for my liking.

Am just hoping that I am not too fat for the one I bought, now that all the skinnies have been on here!

You are v welcome to borrow it if you ever need to.

OP posts:
BingumyAndThob · 19/06/2010 23:37

That is v v kind of you!
I never go to anywhere swish enough to wear something like that though...

janeite · 19/06/2010 23:41

Me neither - tbh I thought I would just wear it day to day with a cardigan over it.

OP posts:
Fleecy · 19/06/2010 23:42

on NAP they have styled my one with tights, long cardi and flat boots for day to day - would work nicely for yours with colours.
