I think they are but I'm really fussy about shoes

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/06/2010 18:45

a bit middle aged

premium · 10/06/2010 18:45

not really frumpy but not WOW either

katycarr · 10/06/2010 18:46

Yes they are, to be frumpy with studs is quite a skill.

They may look better in RL.

Eglu · 10/06/2010 18:46

I don't like sandals at all so probably best not to comment, although I wouldn't say frumpy.

wineismysaviour · 10/06/2010 18:46

Not sure they would look good on...

MagalyZz · 10/06/2010 18:47

they're ok. so many gladiator styles about. Some styles are prettier versions of those, but I bet those are really easy to walk around in. (i walk a lot so I never wear little bejewelled flip flops because they just won't get worn. I like knice shoes for going out though! not a frump honest

MagalyZz · 10/06/2010 18:48

I can't believe I put a K in front of nice.

doggiesayswoof · 10/06/2010 18:49

Hmmm

as I thought

I have bought the brown ones but they could still be going back

My feet are terrible since having DC2, they are wider than they used to be and they swell up etc, so I need sandals to be really soft and comfy otherwise I just end up never wearing them

Also will be walking a fair bit on holiday, so need comfy flats

They are incredibly comfy, really soft suede inner

any other ideas?

doggiesayswoof · 10/06/2010 18:51

Magaly that's it exactly

I have tried on other glads which I know will rub everywhere and cut my feet to shreds - but they look better too

The black ones are suede and they are soooo soft - almost like slippers - I tried them on

katycarr lol I know - frumpy with studs...

LynetteScavo · 10/06/2010 18:53

The brown ones are horrendously frumpy.

The black ones aren't really me, but I guess they could look OK on someone else with leggings.

BelleDameSansMerci · 10/06/2010 18:56

I really don't like either pair but I'm not one to care about comfort where shoes are concerned...

I was going to suggest Ecco or Geox but they look pretty dull too. Sorry can't think of another comfortable type. Link here which might be useful?

LetLoveRule · 10/06/2010 18:58

www.clarks.co.uk/find/department-is-women/category-is-undefined/producttype-is-sandals/product-is-20 339421

These are dead comfy and look v nice on. Not at all frumpy.

Ewe · 10/06/2010 19:04

Yes they are frumpy but comfortable shoes often are.

What about these gladiators? They look good and pretty comfy.

doggiesayswoof · 10/06/2010 19:28

Had to see to DC and then stupid browser crashed

thanks for links, will check them out

Tis the perennial problem really, you tend to have to choose comfort or loveliness, you don't really get both

traceybath · 10/06/2010 20:06

How about these in metallic?

Super comfy but a little more stylish.

rosie17 · 10/06/2010 20:13

You could buy fitflops for now. Easy to try and return if they I are not for you if you use John Lewis online. I live in them

doggiesayswoof · 10/06/2010 20:18

I love those M&S ones - sadly only in my size in the weird colour they call "dusky pink"

Maybe a nicer colour in the flesh than they look in the picture

rosie I have never tried fitflops - always thought they were pricey

OP posts:
traceybath · 10/06/2010 20:23

Call m&s and they'll try and locate you a pair in a store.

doggiesayswoof · 10/06/2010 20:27

Never thought of that
I have a lot to learn about shopping

LadySanders · 10/06/2010 20:32

fit flops or birkenstocks... loads of nice colours and patterns... incredibly comfy

rimmer08 · 10/06/2010 20:36

very frumpy im afraid

stressheaderic · 10/06/2010 20:43

I think it's the suede. If they were leather, they might look a little less frumpy.
They do look incredibly comfy though. God I truly love Clarks.

pointydog · 10/06/2010 20:45

yes, I do find them frumpy

purplepeony · 10/06/2010 21:13

yes awful..sorry Clarks have much better sandals if you want flat and comfy.
