Have tried those OP and they do look better in RL. Sandals with a footbed in really help if you have comfort issues. I bought these which looked fine but rubbed the back of one heel raw on the first wear .
Now wearing £13 fakenstocks from Next which are fab

married I have some ancient Next ones like that. They are excellent but on the verge of falling apart - maybe I should update

purple - please could you give me some examples of better clarks ones? Cos I was in there for about 40 mins today and I honestly thought mine were less frumpy than most of the flat comfy ones

And I'm only 37

I have nice clothes to wear with them

Maybe they'll look less frumpy if my overall look is young and hot

Oh hang on moony

Did I misunderstand? Was that an exclamation of surprise at the gorgeousness of the sandals?

Fuck it I'm going to have a glass of wine with DH

Doggie it will be bloomin difficult to carry off such vile sandals, sorry

moondog · 11/06/2010 19:33

Doggie, they are really nasty.
If you need comfy, just go honest with a Birkenstock or similar.

I've got these for example, which look nice with jeans or a skirt/dress.

Sanesometimes1 · 11/06/2010 23:40

Sorry, yes both are really frumpy my mother in law is a "stylish" 69 year old and this is the sort of thing she wears ! why don't you look at Treds they sell Mcfly shoes which are stylish and comfortable x good luck x

moondog · 12/06/2010 08:25

at the use of 'stylish' actually meaning 'sartorial disaster' when referring to woman of certain age.

OhExpletive · 12/06/2010 08:38

Not exactly out there but they will be seriously comfy

I'm really not a huge fan of gladiators though (says she of absolutely zero style and panache) - if comfort is your priority they wouldn't be my first choice either!
