Hi. Would I look like a prize tit if I wore white converse shoes with a pale denim coloured linen Maxi dress?

Yes

starsareshining · 05/06/2010 22:32

I think it depends on your body type and age. I think it'd probably be fine on a younger person or someone with long, slim legs. I could imagine it on a child; sounds like quite a cute look.

SixtyFootDoll · 05/06/2010 22:35

Hmmmm not a look I would gofor, but if you like it, go for it.

brimfull · 05/06/2010 22:35

yes
except if you have massive feet

MaisieMooTillyTrickle · 05/06/2010 22:36

Hmmm. Mid 30s, curvy size 12/14, short arse; probably not good!

I still think that if you like it and think it makes you look good then why not. Have you tried it on? I was imagining it being worn in the way that the models wear clothes here

bishboschone · 06/06/2010 16:29

dont think it would go but your dress sounds nice, can you link it?

belgo · 06/06/2010 16:33

I wear my (fake) grey converse shoes with a maxi skirt. Looks fine - and I'm also 33, size 12-14, medium height

pointydog · 06/06/2010 16:39

not necessarily.

Shaz10 · 06/06/2010 16:44

Ditch the maxi dress for something else and you'll be fine.

seeker · 06/06/2010 16:46

My dd does this sort of thing - yesterday she was wearing a green flowered maxi dress and red converse. She looked heart stoppingly gorgeous - but she is 14. Not sure about anyone much older, I'm afraid!

LadyBlaBlah · 06/06/2010 16:48

criminal offence

coderrooo · 06/06/2010 16:49

Tit IMO

MamaG · 06/06/2010 16:50

prize tit for def

ifancyashandy · 06/06/2010 16:57

Hmmm... going to stick my neck out here and say I think it could look good, in a kind of slighty hippy / festival stylee.

traceybath · 06/06/2010 17:07

Flat sandals or wedges with maxis I think really.

CarlaBruni · 06/06/2010 18:24

I can't understand why it wouldn't look good. A change from teh sodding ubiquitous and compulsory gladiator sandals (yawn)

foureleven · 06/06/2010 18:26

yes you would. But im biased as i dont do converse.

traceybath · 06/06/2010 18:28

But converse are equally ubiquitous aren't they?

Flip flops or birkenstocks would also look good I think.

I guess for me if the maxi is sleeveless and a very high summer look then converse just seem wrong in that context - I'd just think - sweaty feet.

But try it on and if you feel good in it then wear it.

CoupleofKooks · 06/06/2010 18:28

i think fine - why not?
agree carla re: gladiators

CarlaBruni · 06/06/2010 18:32

Agree that converse are equally ubiquitous but look better than gladiators - timeless style over fashion maybe? A maxi and gladiators looks like teh whole fashion-victim package to me. But with a denim maxi, white converse will look good I think

TiggyR · 06/06/2010 18:39

Depends. If you are (relatively) young, funky, a bit boho, tall and slim, then No. If you look like me then someone will offer to escort you home, having mistaken you for a confused old lady who has wandered out in her nightie and surgical boots.

traceybath · 06/06/2010 18:40

LOL at Tiggy.

TiggyR · 06/06/2010 18:40

Some nice chunky high wedges/espadrilles would be my choice.

harpsichordcarrier · 06/06/2010 18:42

fine, I think
