I'm a size 8 and want some jeans and a cardi from there, last time I shopped there everything swamped me, is it still the same? Can't be arsed ordering and returning again.

I got some suff from there a few weeks ago and I would say the sizing is on the generous side, but maybe not a full size bigger iyswim. I am closer to a 12 but am wearing their 10s, all be a little tightly!

marialuisa · 28/05/2010 09:52

It's still enormous. I think I'm a size 10 overall (have atiny waist but big bum!) and find their size 8s too big.

cockatrice · 28/05/2010 09:54

Yep, enormous, have to size down by one or two sizes.

deaddei · 28/05/2010 13:54

I normally buy a 16 from them in tops, but found a size 14 this week was fine.

SambuccaKelly · 28/05/2010 13:55

Nothing fits me properly in Fat Face. Tops always too big, trousers and skirts are odd and gape in the wrong places.

FatFaceTeam · 01/06/2010 15:52

Hi all!

Sorry to get involved - we don't like to encroach on the forums on here very often, but this seems like a good opportunity to get your thoughts...

Recently, we've been playing about with our sizes after lots of feedback just like yours, saying our kit is a bit on the massive side - now a ton of people are getting back to us saying we've gone too far and our sizes are teeny-tiny!

In the interests of trying to get it right, could you let us know if you guys are all discussing recent purchases (since March), as deaddei is? Any additional info on the products you picked out would be grand too.

Your honesty and help is soooo appreciated!

I shall report back when my items arrive!

Well, I'm a small 8 and the last few things I've bought have been either a 6 or 8 in trousers - one pair of 6s v tight, one pair of 8s quite loose, one 6 just right (velvet slouchy trousers). In tops I mostly buy a 6 which have recently been just right.

HurleySatOnMe · 01/06/2010 18:54

FatFace Team, no comment on the sizes. But tell me this: Why have the clothes for the last 5 or 6 seasons been minging?? I mean really, the overuse of orange and bright blue offends me. And I used to spend a lot of money in your shop, I have skirts and t shirts from 5 or 6 years ago that are still as good as the day they were bought. But the latest designs, just why??

EccentricaGallumbits · 01/06/2010 18:54

And there i was all pleased because i could finally fit into some nice fatface stuff. it's not the 2 stone i lost but the massive sizes. bollocks.

castille · 01/06/2010 19:01

I tried a few tops on last week. I'm a size 6-8 and found the 8s to be either a good fit or too snug. One cami top was much too tight, and I have no bust to speak of!

In the past I've found Fat Face trousers and skirts to be too loose but haven't tried any recently.

Ha ha. I bet the people who have complained to FatFace about teh sizing just don't liek to have to buy in their real size any more.

I've one top bought about 3 years ago. I buy tops in size 12 usually. This is a 10 and still big on me.

PatsyStone · 01/06/2010 19:11

I wear an 8 normally, but had found fat face far too big in the past. In the last month I bought two pairs of shorts both a size 6 (anticipating large sizes), one pair (denim) was a bit too snug on the thighs, some green cropped trousers were too big. A tunic in the sale in an 8 was far too big.

I am only 5' 2" so I don't think this helps me, everything is too long!

Bobbalina · 01/06/2010 19:11

For girls the bottoms are big and the tops are small!

withorwithoutyou · 01/06/2010 19:11

No comment on the sizing but thanks for opening a branch at Euston Station FatFaceTeam, I always used to get fed up with nothing to spend money wantonly on browse in there.

fluffles · 01/06/2010 19:15

i know i'm an odd shape.. well not that odd but i have boobs and a small waist and large thighs..

but i honestly find FF clothes totally unpredictable. i have 10s, 12s and 14s which all fit me.

it puts me off buying online and i only buy online if i've tried on in the shop first.

but a big massive thumbs up for your 'short' length trousers.... please, please, please can all styles come in 's'??? or at least can we search on the website for only trousers available in 's' rather than having to check each style individually???

thanks.

Sariska · 01/06/2010 19:16

I'm a 10/12 and previously found even the 10s too big. My new post-baby (born in March) size 10 purchases fit but am not sure if that's because I still have a baby tummy....

Veteran · 01/06/2010 19:21

The kids clothes are oddly sized too.

DD (a very small 2yo) has a cream hooded jacket aged 3-4, she's still 12-18mo clothes every where else!

this pic defies belief

catinthehat2 · 01/06/2010 19:33

Blimey. I think I need to go shopping at Fat Face, I like this charm & politeness thing.

I bet Clare is like this in real life tho'.

BikeRunSki · 01/06/2010 19:52

Last summer I bought two pairs of shorts - one in size 12 and one in size 16, both fitter the same. Last month I bought some jeans in size 14! I havn't lost or gained weight in between. You need to try everything on, although I very much like being a 12 ! Usually a 14,

FatFaceTeam · 02/06/2010 09:05

Very much scared to click on catinthehat2's link, but thanks so much for letting me know what you're all thinking (especially with regards to colours, Herley!)

stuff a bit small now ime, have only tried on tops though
personally I like it when stuff is bigger

shimmerysilverglitter · 02/06/2010 09:11

Well I am going against the general consensus here, am size 10/12 but have to buy in sizes 14/16 when shopping at Fat Face. So in other words have to buy larger sizes than I actually am because clothes too small. Don't think I am imagining myself to be smaller than I am either, I wear Small at Gap, Small or Medium at Uniqlo, size 12 at Next and usually 10 at DP so it is pretty consistent.

stressheaderic · 02/06/2010 09:24

Bought a navy blue cotton summer dress and a stripey white vest in the 50% sale last month. Love them both (esp the dress - BEAUTIFUL) but both are size 8 and are a bit loose on me and I am usually a 10.
