Help!!

I have my first proper date for over 20 years tonight. We only organised it last night. We're going to eat at a dinery type place.

So, I'm thinking jeans, nice top, heels? Or is jeans too casual? Or should I wear my trusty black boots? Linen trousers and top or is that too smart?

I'm 40 and really too old for all this lol.

I think it's worth giving him a second chance Knockraven, but it is worrying that he thinks it's acceptable to answer his phone and ignore you whilst on a date, that juts seems like basic bad manners.

maybe you could say 'could you turn your phone off as it's distracting us from tonight?' It may be he just hasn't realised how rude he is actually being, sometimes people are quite dense even though they are essentailly quite pleasant.

So, more importantly, what are you wearing tonight? You want to look gorgeous, to at least make him sorry if you decline the third date!

Ok update on the date - it was a total disaster.

His phone kept ringing, i asked him to turn it off, he just looked at me, I could see that once it was a norwegian name, once it was Ann and once it was Liz and they don't sound like farking norwegian names to me.

And chewing tobacco FFS

He's binned.
At least I got some nice clothes out of it that I can hopefully use on another date, right??

at least now you can be certain that he is a knob.

yes, use the clothes for dates with a lovely man who has a clue.

iamfabregasted · 21/05/2010 09:45

Thank you blinks.

Total and utter knob.

Oh that's a shame Knockraven, but chin up, he was a knob but you were gorgeous.

Anone who constantly answers their phone is pretty shallow and anxious, they like to feel they are a 'player' and 'know people' and are always networking and terrified of missing something, and that combined with a lack of self awareness that they are actually lokking like a bad mannered twat.

You got new clothes, went for a personal shopiing session (v jealous) and realised hopefully you are very attractive to men, so dismiss him without another thought!
