Has anyone tried on the New Look black £15 maxi dress?

I reeeeally want this and have stroked it in store SO many times, but I just can't bring myself to try it on. It's quite thin tshirt material and I can just imagine it accentuating my lumps and bumps. Am I just being a drama queen and it's actually really flattering, or should I leave it be?

I took it as far as the changing room today then chickened out!

I'm 5, 6 and have it- I LOVE it!

I've just bought a couple of these ones and they are pretty flattering with my 4 month post natal tummy and I can get at my norks for b'fing. They have a few different colours

Tried on the New Look dress today with DD the ever helpful 4 year old critic with me.

The front looked OK, but racing back not great. Clung to my hips and bottom and the perfectly ordinary pants I was wearing showed through. Material was pretty flimsy and anything at all would show through I think.

Length was OK though (am 5 foot 4)

agree noah, i also tried it on today and i had to force myself not to buy it because it is so nice BUT i knew I would have to spend more than the cost of the dress on decent underwear as the fabric is so thin.

NoahAndTheWhale · 06/05/2010 20:38

DD told me my bottom looked very lumpy

florencepink · 06/05/2010 20:44

wonderful aren't they?! mine told me it was a bit silly to have a dress that long as the bottom of it will get wet in the rain!

MrsMeow · 06/05/2010 20:55

LOL at your DD, Noah!

Yes, I agree with both of you, and thought the same thing about the underwear, florencepink.

It's such a shame it isn't slightly thicker, I'd have probably bought the black one and the purple one if it wasn't so sheer.

Tillyscoutsmum, those dresses are very nice. Did you buy them online?
