OK just asked DS2 (7yo) and his 7.5yo pal. DS2 says yes to hoodie, no to apple T ("looks quite girly")

DS2's pal says no to hoody, yes to apple T ("looks quite trendy")

Both a deffo no to pink one

seeker · 22/04/2010 17:49

Why not buy him boys's clothes?

BTW - I was extremely to see that the Rainbowkids people sell a t shirt for little boys with "womanizer" and another with 'lock up your daughters"

At least we're moving towards equal opportunities sexualization of childhood!

Collision · 22/04/2010 17:52

No

No

No

to all three. No way either of mine would be seen dead in the pear one and the girl one would not stay white for long

Hoodie looks feminine to me too.

Does your DS want to wear the pink one?

Pluto · 22/04/2010 17:56

No. Unisex baby and children's clothes are often lovely (like a lot of Nordic brands) but these are very much for girls.

nappyaddict · 22/04/2010 18:01

I do buy him boy's clothes but I didn't like any of the boy's Boden tshirts so I decided to have a look at the girl's stuff to see if there was anything suitable. (I got a blue hoody with stars on last year for him out the girl's section of Boden)

BeenBeta · 22/04/2010 18:16

Hoody yes. T shirts no.

By the way those Boden clothes look a lot more expensive than the Zara ones we buy for our DSs. Zara always have really nice colours and designs for boys and good quality too.

Fliight · 22/04/2010 18:16

there's loads of nice stuff elsewhere, you don't NEED to shop at Boden you know!

Find some stuff somewhere that you don't need to ask everyone's opinion on because you like it anyway...and know that he will, too.

H&M
Gap
boots even

Tesco
Even got some really nice things in Asda (well occasionally)

Boden is far too ££ anyway for little kids stuff because it will get washed, wrecked, washed, wrecked, do you get what I mean?

Fliight · 22/04/2010 18:18

anyway - the best of the lot is the blue one with the flower on.

Fliight · 22/04/2010 18:22

What about this?

BeLove · 22/04/2010 18:22

Hi there, I'm new here and just starting to get involved. I love Boden stuff but I dont think I'd put my son in the Pink Pear thing. Hoodie could work though

Fliight · 22/04/2010 18:23

Erm Sophie that is a very subtle try at advertising!

I have a voucher to spend that's why and I think I need to spend it all in one go. I have picked some things I like out the boys section but there is some money left IYSWIM. Went shopping last week and bought everything I liked out of the local shops (Boots, M&S, H&M, Debenhams, Pumpkin Patch, George, Tesco, Sainsbury's) but ended up getting mostly shorts but not enough t shirts. Zara is miles away and GAP I usually wait for the sales.

Ok I have looked at the boden website ( can't afford to shop there normally)

You seriously can't find anything you like for your DS?

I don't like camo/sludge stuff but could def find enough clothes for mine to meet my tastes....

overmydeadbody · 22/04/2010 19:19

No I wouldn't because my 7yr old
DS would not like them and would complain that they where too girly and everyone would laugh at him. By primary age kids are very particular about what they wear.

Nappyaddict if your DS is preschool age and you ;like those clothes, then go for it.

ShadeofViolet · 22/04/2010 19:19

No to all three - they are quite clearly girls clothes!

overmydeadbody · 22/04/2010 19:22

DS said he liked this hoodie

overmydeadbody · 22/04/2010 19:22

and the purple one too

nappyaddict · 22/04/2010 19:32

That's the star one I got last year! Like I said I like the colour and picture on both of the apple and pear one, I am just worried the fact it has 3/4 length sleeves looks obviously like a girl's t shirt.

Lipstickdipstick · 22/04/2010 19:33

I would put DS in the apple but only up to about 2 years. he already wears girls clothes but there is no way he could be mistaken for a girl so not a problem. My DH lives in all shades of pink makes men of men, and wimps of wimps if they can't wear pink!!!

Disenchanted3 · 22/04/2010 19:36

My son wears alot of pink and girls stuff, hes
I just knearly 4. He wears clips in his hair too, and tights. I let him get on with it!

nappyaddict · 22/04/2010 19:39

DS is nearly 4 too (in June)

Disenchanted3 · 22/04/2010 19:40

Disenchanted3 · 22/04/2010 19:40

Disenchanted3 · 22/04/2010 19:42
