Is 38 too old for a bikini?

I don't want to look like I'm desperately hanging onto my yoof. Do I need to resign myself to a naice one piece or can I get away with it for a bit longer? I'm 5ft5 , size 10 and quite toned.

And if you've seen anything you like - please share!

Not too old, imho.
Not sure if I think any age is 'too old', though.
Too fat (and I mean much too fat) in a bikini could emphasise too much quite embarrassing bits of flesh, but otherwise, I don't accept the idea that anyone should be ashamed of their body.

traceybath · 19/04/2010 14:03

God no - I'm 37 and will be wearing a bikini for many years to come.

AnyFucker · 19/04/2010 14:06

I don't understand why people post this question every single year

Wear what you like

castille · 19/04/2010 14:07

Hell I hope not!

I feel overdressed on a baking beach in a one-piece. I don't wear bikinis to an indoor swimming pool though.

BikeRunSki · 19/04/2010 14:18

It is for me, but then I havn't looked good in a bikini since I was about 9.

Greenshadow · 19/04/2010 14:20

Yes in UK.
No by the Med.

I would never dream of wearing one in UK but tbh a one-piece would look out of place round a pool/on the beach somewhere very hot.

ClickNegg · 19/04/2010 14:26

NO NO NO its nere too old
who makes UP these tules
yes same q every eyar porrij

isthatporridgeinyourzone · 19/04/2010 15:02

AF/click - you're right about it being asked every year damn you . Am going off to examine bikini clad buttocks in full length mirror. But if surgically enhanced Russians point and laugh while I'm on hols- I WILL BE HOLDING YOU ENTIRELY RESPONSIBLE.

@ porridge

life is too short...what's a bit of cellulite between friends ?

notyummy · 19/04/2010 15:05

NO! It is about whether you feel confident enough, not age. Size 10 and toned - definitely.

I am 38 and wear one.

PestoMonster · 19/04/2010 15:05

No

I'm 46 and wear them every summer

Disenchanted3 · 19/04/2010 15:07

I'm 25 and wouldn't!

but I have a shit body.

thelunar66 · 19/04/2010 15:08

Christ I'm nearly 50 and I wear one!

Them russians who walk around in thongs are only being attention seeking. They don't even see other women to judge them. They are too busy thinking 'me, me, look at me'.

LyraSilvertongue · 19/04/2010 15:08

If you've got the body for a bikini, what does your age matter?

ClickNegg · 19/04/2010 15:09

porridj
that is where you are erring
do not examine fat coming out of hibernation white skin in a mirror

the rules of bikini assessing and buying are long
i will post them once the menfolk are safely gathere in

brb

pagwatch · 19/04/2010 15:10

it is your body shape that determines whether you can wear a bikini or not - not your age

AnyFucker · 19/04/2010 15:10

and even if you don't have a brilliant body...who cares ?

RooBear · 19/04/2010 15:11

of course not, have you seen Jenifer Aniston

noddyholder · 19/04/2010 15:33

isthatporridgeinyourzone · 19/04/2010 16:00

Click - it's a date. I need some tips. Presume leopard print sparkly thong is out of the question?

well my body is too long for an all in one so I either need to be a sizw 10-12 in a size 16 for it to be long enough to not do damage to my fanjo or wear a bikini and keep my fanjo whole
