do you fill your eyebrows? Why?

I have been watching some makup tutorials and youtube and they always fill their eyebrows. Why is this, what sort of shape is best?

Just wondering if I should be doing something to mine, I don't even really pluck (just stray ones).

brimfull · 01/04/2010 16:31

what colour though?

DrivenToDistraction · 01/04/2010 16:31

Oh, and it's not that I think I'm a stunner, TBH my eyebrows are one of a very few of my physical features that I don't dislike

said · 01/04/2010 16:31

You only use the side of the pencil, if you see what I mean. Just evens out the colour. Brown not black.

ZoneBakewell · 01/04/2010 16:32

girl go paler than you think what colour is your hair

on your head

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/04/2010 16:32

Zone - I either get a hard line aka 20s silent movie villainess or it makes no difference ie it doesn't work.

Powders are so much better I find, think is easier to fill in the gapos and make feathery lines which look like hairs.

I am just sat here looking at my eyebrows and don't think there is actually enough there to trim.

brimfull · 01/04/2010 16:33

will order this

am sure these things are all nicked

ZoneBakewell · 01/04/2010 16:34

ah ha you would be surprised.

brush them down with a brush, towards your eyes. snip along any hairs that hang below the under side of your eyebrow.

Then brush them upwards and snip any hairs that poke up above your natural brow line.

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/04/2010 16:35

I got a blonde eyebrow pencil (No 7 iirc) and it looks insane - all gingery. I have very dark brown brows so need dark brown pencil.

I think only Mystic Meg uses black eyebrow pencil.

brimfull · 01/04/2010 16:36

or shall I get this one as someone suggested for brunettes

brimfull · 01/04/2010 16:39

have ordered blonde
don't want to look like Spock

ZoneBakewell · 01/04/2010 16:39

I got blonde .hasnae come yet

OrmRenewed · 01/04/2010 16:49

Fill them?

Is that like stuffing a mushroom?

In which case I thought that life is too short?

navyeyelasH · 01/04/2010 16:52

ok I normally look like this with less of a weird chin, think my scarf makes me look chinny there.

Just took a snap am in room with rubbish light but here is grey scale, and here is colour. Sorry bad quality took it on my phone.

The only bit I ever tidy up is where the eyebrows meet in the middle above my nose as they go sort of spiky where the hairs are shorter - other than that I do nothing but lick them down with my fingers! In the latest shots the bits I normally do need cleaning up.

Hence me asking this question should I not do them and get myself to a brow bar?

DrivenToDistraction · 01/04/2010 16:59

WOW!!!!

A trim and a fill should be enough, they are beautiful!

DrivenToDistraction · 01/04/2010 17:02

They are a wee bit too far about though, I'd let them grow back a bit and trim the spiky bit IYSWIM

navyeyelasH · 01/04/2010 17:20

thanks Driven, I was worried I was deluded. The spiky bits are literally about 5 hairs on each brow I'm not sure they'd grow out more but will give it a go.

What do I do to mask them while the grow back tho?

The photos are quite blurred, maybe IRL they aren't quite as far apart as they look. Maybe try filling them to where you pluck them to now and see how it looks? Take a peek at the diagram I posted to see what you're aiming for.

Would love to see a photo of them filled in TBH. Brown eyeshadow is fine just to test with...

navyeyelasH · 01/04/2010 17:31

ok, what do I do just use some eyeshadow on a brush and sort of colour them in?

OP posts:
DrivenToDistraction · 01/04/2010 17:51

Indeed! Just have a play about, it's not permanent after all

Bonsoir · 01/04/2010 17:54

If I am getting properly made up, I fill in my eyebrows. I look a lot better like this.

On normal days I slick some eyebrow gel through them. This is better than nothing.

I use a Clinique wind-up pencil in soft brown - I'm blonde but my brows are quite heavy and darkish.

It's a really thin pencil bit and it's always sharp enough to give a very precise line. The trick is to practise so you can get a very light stroke.

Deffo look better pencilled in.

southeastastra · 01/04/2010 18:05

i have never done this either. will have a go later
