I will probably get the same shoes she has on too. Now what do I do about jewellery, shoulder coverage etc. The service is in a church and the reception in a posh hotel so it is quite formal ad the bride is a very good friend.

I'm rubbish at this part any help much appreciated, if I need pashmina type thing how the hell do you wear it? I don't think I could handle that shawl type look! I'm 26 if that helps.

What about a white fitted jacket for the service and tehn take off later?

I wouldn't wear that dress to a church wedding personally, a pashmina will ruin the effect and make you look too old but it's more for clubbing than a formal day event.

A jacket would work. But the neckline might look odd with it being one shouldered.

KB has wisely not accessorised and I'd say that was the way to go with a stunning dress like that.

Besides, I think it will work fine if shoulders are covered for the service, then uncovered for reception.

My hair is quite short (just had the chop) so I will wear it in a sort of messy but structured bob if that makes any sense?

I was thinking instead of a fascinator a little hair clip, some drop earings and a simple bracelet?

I think the dress could be a clubbing dress if you styled it so but I think we can style it from a wedding; right?! My makeup will be really basic. I'm normally a black eyeliner, bed head grungy type!

tethersend I local dress maker is making it for the pricely sum of £125 with a matching clutch bag!

Everyone at the wedding will be around my age - I'm scared now it's not formal enough!

The dress is being modified slightly, it will have sleeve detailing like this dress.

I would change into it for the evening it's a lovely dress but not for church.

Sorry, don't have any suggestions for what you could wear with it but I just wanted to say don't listen to those who say you can't wear it in church! Pah! Why not?

tethersend I could try but I think because the wedding is so soon it might be pushing it a bit... plus it might be a bit same samey? I like the shape of that one in your link, but maybe not satin? I don't think Satin and I get on too well.

sixtyfiitdoll if what's the case? The youngish crowd? Or my norks? I don't think anyone would bat an eyelid at my bare shoulders TBH but it wouldn't feel 'proper' to me.

I'm guessing SFD was referring to the sleeve detail (which is very pretty, btw, and I think somehow makes the dress look more 'modest'.

I wonder if a smart coat might be the way to go? Expensive, though.
