i wouldnt, they are a bit frumpy if i am being honest, though the black is better than the tan.

what about some dolly shoes? or mary janes?

cheeryface · 08/03/2010 13:57

They are a bit lacking in the style department... what's the occasion (i.e. work/casual daywear/evening)? I'll see if I can find a good alternative x

BunnyLebowski · 08/03/2010 14:02

Agree with ggirl - They're like orthopaedic elf shoes.

Can you show us the dress and we'll help find some shoes??

cheeryface · 08/03/2010 14:03

my lifestyle is very casual, cleaning , school run, shopping etc. i normally wear jeans but would like to dress differently!

i want to wear dresses but nothing seems to look right. too cold for bare legs, so have tried dresses with tights but i am 5ft 1 and size 8 with no boobs.

dolly shoes seemed to make my legs look funny and like i had massive feet.
i am kinda boho style normally i suppose.
i am 34 but look very little girl like (in a wrinkly sort of way ) iyswim

any help appreciated

BessieBoots · 08/03/2010 14:08

I like them!

(but then, I always go for the orthopaedic elf look. You should see my hat collection)

cheeryface · 08/03/2010 14:12

Cheeryface - I don't see how being small is a barrier to looking great !!
I am also very petite, with no boobs, and consider myself to be fairly stylish... (or at least I like to think so !)

Actually, being petite, you can wear anything really, but you may just need to get dresses and skirts taken up, so they are not too long.

It's still pretty cold, so you would wear boots with thick tights and dresses layered over long sleeved t-shirts.

cheeryface · 08/03/2010 15:03

thanks feelingoptimistic , when you say boots are you talking knee high?

blinks · 08/03/2010 15:04

they're like Lola's shoes, non?

cheeryface · 08/03/2010 15:07

lolas shoes??

OP posts:
onebadbaby · 08/03/2010 15:07

Ugly shoes I am afraid!

ShadeofViolet · 08/03/2010 15:09

Yes, Lola as in Charlie and Lola!

They are not really my cup of tea.

cheeryface · 08/03/2010 15:10

oh right ! are the fly ones yuk too ? i linked to them second.

OP posts:
crumpette · 08/03/2010 15:26

How about some ballet flats instead, or boots while it's still chilly? You can also get ballet flats with a little strap across which are almost the same as that shoe just less orthopaedic and elfy

crumpette · 08/03/2010 15:51

The fly ones are better imo, as bit less chunky

tethersend · 08/03/2010 15:54

How about these or these with black tights and this dress?

tethersend · 08/03/2010 15:55

I think the fly ones are worse than the first ones.

tethersend · 08/03/2010 15:56

Which doesn't mean I like the first ones- just that they make my eyes bleed slightly less than the fly ones

Sorry.

blinks · 08/03/2010 15:57

howsabout something functional but a tad more chic...here

higgle · 08/03/2010 15:58

OP - you could only wear those shoes if you were 50+ and a social worker!

cheeryface · 08/03/2010 16:11

hehe nope that is not me! but i dont really like to wear the same 'uniform ' as everyone in the town either

blowfish quite nice, could not see myself in the ones tethersend suggests. dress is ok though
