these look comfy

cheeryface · 08/03/2010 16:33

yes, they are quite nice. not sure about black though. i have hardly any clothes that are black. thinking some that will be good spring/summer too
or really should i just buy 2 pairs

OP posts:
crumpette · 08/03/2010 16:41

not as black

blinks · 08/03/2010 16:49

fair enough- don't get the uniform reference though... to me clarks loafers epitomise 'average'.

cheeryface · 08/03/2010 16:53

i know, it didnt really come out right that. i suppose i mean that i just never seem to like what everyone else likes. maybe its time i did lol
everyone near me wears leggings and pumps

cheeryface, you can wear whatever you want. If you like the first shoes you linked to then wear them. All you need is confidence. Look at those who wear only 'vintage' clothes, wearing loads of random things together which would make some people recoil in horror but on them looks really great because of their attitude. Alexa Chung, for example, wears some seriously random things but is hailed as a fashion icon. Add some attitude and a smile and maybe some red lipstick and you can wear orthopaedic elf shoes and look amazing

thanks crumpet , liking those words of wisdom

how about some simple canvas pumps and boots while it's still cold

PoppityMoppityandCottontail · 08/03/2010 22:52

I quite like those actually, I think they would look great if your style is quirky.

Have you looked at Terra Plana? their flats are often in between the style you posted, and ballet pumps. Ethical too.

cruelladepoppins · 09/03/2010 10:44

OP, I like the shoes. I would say not tan tights, and skirt should be higher than knee-length. Shorts would be even better ...

Nothing in the world nicer than comfy feet!

florencepink · 09/03/2010 11:20

you need some nice flat suede knee high boots in either tan or black to wear for now and some ballet flats for when you get your legs out but lots of people still wear boots in summer and if you get some casual slouchy ones it looks ok year round.

crumpette · 09/03/2010 11:50

cheeryface, I am the new Gok Wan

cheeryface · 09/03/2010 11:56

How about these?

CleverCircusFlea · 09/03/2010 12:36

Or these, even better!
Ok, that's enough for now.

cheeryface · 09/03/2010 12:45

second pair quite nice although may make my skinny legs golf club like !!

OP posts:
CleverCircusFlea · 09/03/2010 12:47

I love the second pair so much, i might just go and buy them right now!
Damn.

wardrobeinsider · 09/03/2010 12:55

These looks are a little bit boho which sounds right for your style/personality and the bonus is they all include comfy shoes!

I'm not saying you have to buy these exact outfits, they're just a guide really...

This look is perfect for spring

This style will take you from spring (with boots & cardi) to summer (with sandals)

This is a great summer look

If you want some cute flats for spring try something like this or this

Happy shopping xx

PoppityMoppityandCottontail · 09/03/2010 13:09

Good grief, that first model looks like she's been stretched!

cheeryface · 09/03/2010 21:40

wardrobe insider thanx . like those gold shoes..would never normally look for gold

I have a friend who has these and wears them with knee length stuff and looks great. Couldn't do it myself as my Marcel Marceau look of skinny legs and enormous feet don't mix with them. Not often I want to be short !
