I have found exactly what I need to go with my '50s style dress - here

but I need it in white/off-white/cream.

Can you fashionistas lend a hand and find me the perfect headpiece? The wedding is in 7 weeks.

Thank you so much! I desperately want this!!

Have a look on Etsy, there are thousands of people selling stuff like that (I know, because I'm also getting married in a 50s-style dress and have been perving over green feathery headbands ).

Where did you get your dress from, out of interest?

NomDePlume · 19/02/2010 14:21

it's called a fascinator. you'll find loads if you use the right search term

Ohforfoxsake · 19/02/2010 14:22

That was quick! Thank you. I'll have a look

Whirling Turban. Have you got yours yet?

What style tips can I pinch off you then?!

ebay

NomDePlume · 19/02/2010 14:25

ebay 2

harecare · 19/02/2010 14:25

"my pretty little things" sell on folksy.com, I think they do bespoke too.

Ohforfoxsake · 19/02/2010 14:27

That's really pretty Nomdeplume, but too 'sticky out'. I might buy it for Ascot though Thank you!

Have it custom made

cyteen · 19/02/2010 14:27

Ooh, Whirling Turban - nice! I was deliberating over them and Dolly Couture for ages but was too skint in the end. Mine is this one, which I love but which is a real bastard to accessorise So am lacking in any style tips at the moment...my wedding's not till September though.

You must be v excited now, 7 weeks!

Ohforfoxsake · 19/02/2010 14:28

that second one might work though...

I've set my heart on the feathery one, but I like the second ebay one, might give it a go

Vivian of Holloway is fab!

Have to go out now, but really loving all the suggestions. Looking forward to coming back to it later - I'll show you mine

Thanks everyone. Gotta love Mumsnet!

choosyfloosy · 19/02/2010 14:36

tethersend · 19/02/2010 14:55

Is this any help?

meep · 19/02/2010 14:55

gorgeous ones here

meep · 19/02/2010 14:57

another off white one on ebay

meep · 19/02/2010 14:59

pricey but gorgeous?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 19/02/2010 15:02

Can I be mean and say I was a bridesmaid, we had feather fascinators and they look awful in the photos.

If it is even a slightly 'damp' day it will clump and if it is sunny they are a nightmare for the photographer.

I had a 50's style dress and had a very simple headband, 3 rows of pearls. I had my hair in a twisty up do.

Ohforfoxsake · 19/02/2010 16:09

You meany!

I think the monsoon one will work because its close to the head, and also only on one side. Its probably more '40s than '50s but I want it all the same I'm a bride

Will have a look at all those below. Thanks everyone
