Got my Gok dress.

this is wonderful - is a jersey dress with a panel down the front that hides everything - I got it in the brown and the blue and I have had no end of people ask me where it is from - really great addition to everyday work wardrobe or can be worn over jeans or with leggings and biker or knee hig boots.

Just thought I would share.

LOVE IT

bluebump · 11/02/2010 12:02

That is lovely!

MadameCastafiore · 11/02/2010 12:02

Oooohhhh do you have one too - it is what Gok put on that beautiful blind lady the other night.

Its lovely!

But does it stick to thighs and ride up when wearing tights and walking? I have a similar one from Zara which I cannot wear for this reason.

LouIsOnAHighwayToHell · 11/02/2010 12:03

It must be wonderful as there are hardly any in stock.

moonshine · 11/02/2010 12:04

Lots of reviews say it clings to their arse alarmingly - suppose you didn't agree if you kept the dresses? And is this because you have a small bum, if you don't mind me getting a little personal with you???

MadameCastafiore · 11/02/2010 12:05

No, doesn't ride up at all.

The blue is a nicer colour than the brown and looks good with black tights and boots but they are both sooo practical as I work in a hospital and it is hard to look smart but trendy and cover up all the crappy lumps and bumps.

OP posts:
MadameCastafiore · 11/02/2010 12:07

I wouldn't say clings to bum really but that is the least problematic area of my body - it is the front that I try to hide the bit between bra line and bikini line is my lumpy bit and it hides all of that.

I would say maybe just buy a size bigger if you have a larger bum.

piratecat · 11/02/2010 12:08

i like, but would prob have to wear it back to front with my arse!

BariatricObama · 11/02/2010 12:08

it does cling to the model's arse, which is quite an achievement

BariatricObama · 11/02/2010 12:09

pirate cat you would be teh worlds first woman with camel toe wearing a dress

thelunar66 · 11/02/2010 12:10

ooh MC you work in a hospital too... I was going to get it for work, but my colleague who just had a look reckons its a bit low cut.

HappyHome · 11/02/2010 12:11

I have it in brown and it is indeed lovely
It does cling to my backside a little but I wear it with a slip, stops it clinging to opaque tights too.

ilove · 11/02/2010 12:13

It has not got good reviews on the M&S website

moonshine · 11/02/2010 12:15

Thee reviews are very contradictory. One says washes well and, 2 just above it another says it has shrunk badly!

NoahAndTheWhale · 11/02/2010 12:17

Most of the reviews I can see look quite good and its overall rating is about 4.5 out of 5.

MrsGokWantsatidyhouse · 11/02/2010 12:20

Glad my other half steered you in the right direction

Actually I rather like that dress, I think I need to go into the city and have a look at it on me.

GoingOnTheTelly · 11/02/2010 12:22

Oooooh lovely and what a bargain!

MadameCastafiore · 11/02/2010 12:25

Noo is not low cut at all - I have the size 12 blue one on today and boobies are well and truely covered!

OP posts:
MadameCastafiore · 11/02/2010 12:27

Have it on with biker boots, long black cardi and black opaque tights and one of our 'young people' said I look COOL!

High praise indeed as they normally just raise they eyebrows and snigger behind their hands at me!

ThatVikRinA22 · 11/02/2010 12:33

love it....but im a pear shape - do you think it would make my hips look huge? am very tempted to order one and see.

ThatVikRinA22 · 11/02/2010 12:36

bugger - is it out of stock?

moonshine · 11/02/2010 12:37

If you go here and look at about 23/24 mins in you can see the dress on How to Look Good Naked (am at home with sick child today so have lots of time on my hands atm!)

Bobbiewickham · 11/02/2010 12:40

Just got one!

In blue - it's lovely, but I think I'll need a slip underneath.

duckyfuzz · 11/02/2010 12:40

I ordered it and it arrived yesterday, unfortunately I don't find it very flattering so have it available in chocolate in a 12 if anyone wants it (will be posting it back tomorrow, so be quick!) the slinky dress is much more flattering imo
