Oh Stylish ones - I need fab dress for hubby's 40th Party

Stylelostinlabour · 30/01/2010 20:53

Help me please...

I need a fab dress from hubby's 40th Party - I'm 5'8, size 14/16 brown hair, blue eyes.

Have stomach and arm issues but everything else is fine (ish) - dont suit black but every other colour is fine.

Needs to be fab as hubby has a friend who wife will try and out dress everyone and I don't want to look like a bag of spuds tied in middle like usual!

Any help would be so much appreciated

Not sure if you want sleeves? Or how dressy a do it is? If there are bits of you youwnt to show off (good norks, hourglass shape, great legs)?

Oh dear I'm in trouble - that fever website has some georgeous stuff on it - I've never come across them before!
Sorry for the hijack but have you ordered from them? What the fabric quality like? Are they well made clothes?

sweetheart I only have a fever dress I bought in a boutique which is lovely. Not top quality though, but on a par with Oasis/Zara/Whistles high street types.

PoppityPing · 30/01/2010 22:27

Heathcliffscathy · 30/01/2010 22:29

bad stomach and arms equals 60s mini tunic with bell sleeves. get your legs out!

Heathcliffscathy · 30/01/2010 22:37

gorgeous...you need cardi

Heathcliffscathy · 30/01/2010 22:38

PoppityPing · 30/01/2010 22:43

I agree with sophable, so long as you have boobs on the smaller side- get your legs out! If you have boobs, how do you feel about cleavage?

Heathcliffscathy · 30/01/2010 22:43

lbd if you have a good back

Sukie1971 · 30/01/2010 22:44

Thanks poppity

Heathcliffscathy · 30/01/2010 22:48

I WANT the orange dress.

i have dark brown hair and olivey skin and suit bright colours a lot!

that dress is beautiful, reeks class and could not in any way be upstaged!

Heathcliffscathy · 30/01/2010 22:52

not orange, tomato red. same difference!

PoppityPing · 30/01/2010 23:00

gorgeous but only in black

lovely for hiding a tummy

jacket to add some glam to something simple

legs out!

too plain

great colour

matching shrug on same page

PoppityPing · 30/01/2010 23:02

sophable, that dress would look fab with a tan

PoppityPing · 30/01/2010 23:16

orange I rather like this, but it might be scary

pink this too.

I think I need to stop now

Stylelostinlabour · 31/01/2010 18:00

Wow Thank you for all the lovely website links - just working my way through them, how have I never managed to find all these sites? Love them...

Norks are fine "average" not bit not small
