What knickers do you wear?

No, I am not a perve!

I about to order some underwear and the knickers I was about to buy have 4 reviews - all by grannies and women who are a lot bigger than me describing them as "perfect for the mature lady". I am 33.

I used to wear thongs but have no idea how now as they're so uncomfortable. I was a 8-10 pre dd but am now a 12 so perhaps that's why. I have lots of underwear sets but need some black, cotton knickers for every day wear with plain black bras. I quite like shorts but they seem to be giving me VPL. I may try the M&S no VPL ones.

Anyone?

The M&S 'high leg' ones - nearly always black.
Yes, I know they risk being a bit 'granny-knicker-ish' but they're really comfortable, and I don't find they give me VPLs under jeans/trousers.

traceybath · 14/01/2010 11:45

I like the brazilian shape like these

Pineapplechunks · 14/01/2010 11:46

Currently wearing sainsburys TU black minis. Very comfy and not too granny. Not exactly what you'd call sexy but for everyday they're fine.

sh77 · 14/01/2010 11:50

Primark high leg (5 for 1.50) . They serve their function well. All my girlfriends are horrified. I never saw the point of fancy and expensive underwear. Bought one thong and binned it after 5 mins. The most pointless thing ever invented.

carciofi · 14/01/2010 11:52

Brazilian style from M&S or Sloggi

BonjourIvressedeNoel · 14/01/2010 11:55

boy shorts

chickensaresafehere · 14/01/2010 11:58

M&S high leg cotton ones, comfy & practical.I used to wear thongs when I was younger(38 now),but cannot tolerate them now!!Except maybe for bedroom use,if asked nicely!!

saythatagain · 14/01/2010 12:00

Big 'uns

cremolafoam · 14/01/2010 12:01

black hi leg m&s here.
funny how popular they are. but always need a size smaller as i find them a baggy.

dottyaboutstripes · 14/01/2010 12:03

Since my c-section, I can't wear anything other than HUGE M&S black granny knickers BTW, they are baggy too and I have to size down LOL!

mamazon · 14/01/2010 12:04

lace french shorts. no vpl, comfy and my arse doesn't eat half the fabric

Hulababy · 14/01/2010 12:05

M&S hi leg, white or black, all cotton and mostly no seems.

I don't care if not height of fashion, they are comfy.

have some fancier ones with matching bras for special occasions.

Bodeniiiites · 14/01/2010 12:05

i also wear M&s Black high legs i agree you sometimes need a size smaller they are so comfy though and as i nearly always wear Black bras i get the matching set kind of feeling

Whippet · 14/01/2010 12:07

OOH - have we found THE 'Mumsnet knicker' ??!

(M&S High Legs...)

Have never understood how anyone can wear scratchy lace ones for evryday??

thelunar66 · 14/01/2010 12:09

Another wearer of M&S high legs, although I have now found BHS high legs to be a better fit.

M&S no VPL are good too.

upafrozenhill · 14/01/2010 12:12

Boy shorts.

Every now and then I ask DH to pick up a couple of packets of white ones for everyday wear from Tesco when he is doing the shopping. For weekend underwear and going out stuff I still wear boy shorts but I get loads ofstuff of Figleaves.

clarea1 · 14/01/2010 12:27

The M&S no VPL ones were awful - like a permenant wedgy for me - I took the unworn ones back and got a refund. They also rouched up my legs when i put fitted jeans on.

Goober · 14/01/2010 12:32

Manky ones.

monkeysmama · 14/01/2010 13:47

Nice Goober. You should've been on Cyb's trouser thread the other day.

Ordered some of the M&S brazillian ones. Cheers.

I wear big black cotton pants. DH doesn't give a sod about undies and who else am I trying to impress? Thongs are horrible (used to love 'em, but that was when I was young and whorish cool).

Tortington · 14/01/2010 13:52

i have traditionally worn undies rather than keckers - with three boys/men in the house there has always been loads of undies.

if i do buy keckers - which i do from time to time, i like 'shockers' alittle portmanteau describing shorts/knickers. i prefer the short type ones as after having three children inc. twins, my stomach decided to do its own thing and i have a mrs doubtfire esq apron - there is no muscle tone there at all - so 'shockers' (made up word!) suit me as they still look sexy and cover all my bits

moondog · 14/01/2010 13:55

It's not the VPL that is so bad, but the horizontal line that the back of the gussett makes on the arse.

Yuck!
Like the horizontal line across the tits on non seamless bras.

BitOfFun · 14/01/2010 14:00

M&S black boy shorts.

Carrotfly · 14/01/2010 14:02

Yep, M&S shorts for me too.

DH is always wanting me to wear matching bras, so I give it a go for a few days, but then always revert back to the comfy ones !

IWishIWasAFrog · 14/01/2010 14:16

Sloggi hi leg ones, sooooo comfy.
