You have to post a link so we can have a look at it.

Barbsieboo · 12/01/2010 22:08

www.brora.co.uk/Product/Product.aspx?WebShopCodeStr=A9&WebSegmentCodeStr=S2&WebCategoryCodeStr=CE&St yleCodeStr=LQA88 wish I could have got the plum..... but seriously is this too much money for this kind of dress??

You are not mad but I am v jealous as coveted it myself but have had no sales preview email.

traceybath · 12/01/2010 22:10

Link not working for me - how much is it?

I do think brora cashmere is worth the money - hence I'm staying up to get on the sale site.

Barbsieboo · 12/01/2010 22:10

Sale is go on main site now!! buy one too make me feel better...... am coveting bath robe but thought tad decadent as I dont get enough lounging time to make this an investment piece.... what would you wear this dress with??

OP posts:
FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 12/01/2010 22:11

I can't see it. The website's not working, I couldn't possibly comment.

If you are going to wear it alot then go for it, it would be more economical then sepnding £50 on a dress you only wear once or twice.

Barbsieboo · 12/01/2010 22:12

I have many addictions and scottish cashmere is definitely one of them.... hence why I got to check out!! do you know anyone who has bought this dress??

I think that dress is lovely. I have bought a v neck jumper from the Brora sale. I think their stuff is such good quality that it is worth it.

Barbsieboo · 12/01/2010 22:23

Their clothes are beautiful and I hope the dress is as wonderful a fit when it arrives. I bought a jumper last sale and it has washed well, kept their colour and shape and I have used it loads so heres hoping I will do the same with this dress. I have a similar dress/ tunic from Boden which I love (strangely enough for me and Boden) but I figured it would not last and the Brora one will and the Brora one will be a more modest hem line..... I have been deliberating this purchase - can you tell ???

There are a few threads on here about boden knitwear, most of them saying they loose their shape and bobble.

I still want to see this dress but the site's still not up

Barbsieboo · 12/01/2010 22:32

Thats what I thought about the Boden knitwear too - last year I gave the charity shop a jumper I had only washed once because it looked so bad..... so now investing in knitwear........but boy it does cost......but going back to someone elses comment if it cost £50 and you dont wear it then that is a high cost per usage..... as opposed to something expensive that you use plenty of......( my argument for hubby is taking shape nicely).....

You should have sent it back to Boden and got a refund!!

I have a lovely Italian wool dress, it should have been a little over £400, I paid £25 , I've worn it three times so it works out at just over £6 per wear (I've not had it that long), I could have gone to Next, paid £25 for a dress and worn it once. The dress is a far better investment.

You could pass your dress on to your dd/niece, it should really last.

ApuskiDusky · 12/01/2010 22:40

Thanks for this, I just checked my junk email and I have an email too! Better quickly browse before it starts proper...

Barbsieboo · 12/01/2010 22:43

Thanks thats the kind of encouragement I need!! your italian dress sound divine - where did you get that?? if I may ask! please describe it and tell me what you wear with it?? I agree money spent at Boden and on the high street can sometimes be money poorly spent - This boden dress is good but I dont feel will still be hanging so proudly in my wardrobe in 2 years time. I bought my dress in black - do you think that was a good choice or should I have gone for dark grey - the plum was divine but alas all gone!! Its shown with a wide belt - so I think another purchase may be on its way!!

They were closing a cruise shop in the city where I live. I managed to get a Gucci top for £25 aswell

It's long, tight and black, like a wrap over top, floaty skirt, I love it!! Hugs all the right bits and makes my norks look good!! I don't wear it with anything (apart from shoes (Emma Hope, Wine velvet with gold thread pattern, these were really reduced from another shop), tights and undies

I did see a knitted ralph lauren dress in Liberty, I was going to order on when I get paid on Thursday but they don't have any left

ApuskiDusky · 12/01/2010 22:47

Right, have had a quick look - the black jumper dress looks great, good length and shape I think. And a decent reduction compared to some of the other things on there. Sadly I'm 4 months pregnant and can't get my head round buying stuff only for next winter, so am restricting my searches to the cardigans, though I might buy a hat!

FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 12/01/2010 22:51

Is it still really expensive?

It will make your little bump look great, then when you pack it away for next winter it should still have it's shape as long as you don't wear it too much.

Barbsieboo · 12/01/2010 22:54

Wow Fluffy - you did well with your purchases - those opportunities dont come often and I bet you will keep that dress forever.... Its nice to have such a fab designer outfit and to know you got it for a real bargain!!
I have talked myself round that I have made a good purchase - just stressing now if I made it as no confirmation e- mail.

OP posts:
Barbsieboo · 12/01/2010 22:55

Its £179 but I guess that is how much you could pay for decent jeans these days..

OP posts:
FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 12/01/2010 22:57

I love my dress. It does feel really odd walking out of the house in almost 1K's worth of clothes though (I didn't pay this)

It will be OK, I bet they have alot of orders.

ApuskiDusky · 12/01/2010 23:05

It should be fine Barbsieboo, sizes 8, 10 and 12 are all saying in stock, not even low stock.

Can't justify it for myself, I already have a couple of Ghost knitted dresses that I bought after I saw a mad sale on mn last year, and that's enough for my occasional dress-wearing days!

Enjoy!

ApuskiDusky · 12/01/2010 23:11

Oh oh oh, there is a gorgeous cashmere dressing gown in the clearance sale, in teal, half price! Still shedloads, but gorgeous......

Barbsieboo · 12/01/2010 23:20

I saw the dressing gown too - and I know I would so love it!! but it is too ££££

OP posts:
FluffyForLifeNotJustForXmas · 12/01/2010 23:21

So, what is ££££ (I'm a skinflint with too many bills)
