Dressing gown was £495 , is now £259. And it matches my bedroom and everything...

Barbsieboo · 12/01/2010 23:25

£259 from £495 - for a dressing gown!! - there is no way I will go there!! but I would so love it (hmmm lottery numbers!!)

Barbsieboo · 12/01/2010 23:27

faustina · 13/01/2010 05:48

that dress is lovely. I would have bought it but I am Trying To Economise this year. Everything Brora lasts forever. I have been living in two huge black jumpers from there this past month - they are a million times nicer (and warmer) than anything else I have

abdnhikinginawinterwonderland · 13/01/2010 07:52

I love that dress! good for you - I wish my budget would stretch to it! Actually what I really wish for is that Brora would do a high quality merino dress for those of us on budgets...

bellissima · 13/01/2010 09:23

I think it looks really nice - fraid I had to limit myself to gloves and socks. Please give us feedback on here when you get it - I responded to their request for a review (of cashmere socks - I mean what can you say, 'warm'?) and was slightly taken aback to get an automatic reply saying that they would examine it or something (ie check complimentary??) before putting it up.

MadameOvary · 13/01/2010 09:28

Oh that six ply cashmere poncho
with a hood
And sleeves
And everything

AvrilH · 13/01/2010 09:33

Heres hoping!!!! will update you all when it arrives.... over the guilt of remorgaging the house for it and into excited. I am concerned over buying black again but hey its classic - right!!

I am hanaflower's friend with that dress and it is amazing - super flattering, cosy cosy warm, could BF in it if I ever have DC2. I keep handwashing and wearing it and neglecting the rest of my wardrobe! Seriously, if they'd had it in a more 'different' colour (e.g. paler grey or bright red or something) I would buy 2.

mrsshackleton · 14/01/2010 16:07

Oh, it's divine, I love love love it

But they only have it in dull colours in my size. What a relief. Will spend the money on dd1s birthday party instead

abra1d · 14/01/2010 16:13

I have three Brora pieces and they have lasted well. Buy it.

Barbsieboo · 14/01/2010 18:19

Thanks guys - heres hoping it fits!!!! please !!!!! and if so will be ecstatically pleased and tell hubby had it ages and its from.........??? somewhere much cheaper......... he keeps trying to ut me off Brora but I am having none of it!!

Lovely dress and FWIW I think Brora wears exceptionally well.

When DD was a toddler she was bought a couple of the zip up cardis by a friend. They were a little big so she has worn them relentlessy for almost three years. I stick them in the washing machine on the handwash cycle and they are good as new.

I now buy nearly all the DC's jumpers from there.

bellissima · 16/01/2010 09:00

Glad you like it - am still jealous! My socks and gloves arrived (did I mention that the thaw would set in??) and they are v nice. I also just shove the cashmere socks into the washing machine - makes them fluffier - but wouldn't necessarily recommend for a dress!

NB Boden preview order in October still not here (despite two phone calls). Brora order on Tuesday arrived yesterday morning..

mrsshackleton · 16/01/2010 10:11

What is the sizing like? Am tempted by the dark blue in size eight, I might squeeze in if generous ...

Barbsieboo · 16/01/2010 12:23

Sizing fairly true to size I would say I am 10 - 12 more 10 on hips and 12 on top and the 10 is perfect.

LTEC - I read you are also headed down under so you buying a dress too has increased my confidence that despite a sunnier climate I will still get brilliant opportunities to wear this classic dress!!
