With you now tulpe . how was skiing btw?

AnIng etc - um, excuse me? How do you know what my customisation is, was or might be? Do you know my name? Genuinely puzzled by your snarkiness and projected total of £88

Dig out your old filofax they are now 'de rigeur' in a vintage ironic way!

AnInginAneAnA · 08/01/2010 21:30

"I could have it customised with "2010 - the year of living frugally" "

tulpe · 08/01/2010 21:33

Skiing was fab thanks, LTEC. Enjoyed swanning around FiLs house in my new Hush outfits. Twas very fitting We are off again for first week of Feb but to Belle Plagne this time. DCs are being so funny with the snow here at the moment:

Tulpe: "DCs would you like to get your salopettes on and go out for a walk and a play in the snow?"

Little Tulpe 1 & 2: "No thanks Mama. We've had enough snow for this year. It's a bit boring now. And anyway, it isn't the same as Opa's (FiLs) snow"

Tulpe: "erm......right"

I think it's nice. I think you're nice. I write a diary every day and have a beautiful Aspinal one dp bought me for Christmas (black of course). Past few days have been filled with my tales of woe of trying to get back to Gatwick.

Someone else mentioned the Not on the High Street pink one which I really liked too.

Millie1 · 08/01/2010 21:43

I like it LTEC ... buy it!! Have spent months searching for the perfect diary. Like this www.graphicimage.com/2010_planner_datebook_p/wj7%20gti.htm but they charge around £15-20 to ship to UK and through Harrods (only UK suppliers) they cost around £80 plus £20 postage - extortionate . Papernation did have lovely Cavallini (sp?) leather diaries but it looks like they are sold out. I think I'm going to go for a lovely pink or red Filofax (like you I want pink, pink and more pink) either www.filofax.co.uk/store/organiserdetails.asp?display=&sizeId=5&rangeId=37&dsizeId=5 or www.filofax.co.uk/store/organiserdetails.asp?display=&sizeId=5&rangeId=120&dsizeId=5 - although it's red which is putting me off .

Buy and enjoy ... stationery is fun!

CHOOGIRL · 08/01/2010 21:45

LTEC - I will allow the diary as a necessary business expense for your work. This means that you are not really buying it and haven't slipped off the wagon.

tulpe · 08/01/2010 21:54

Good call, Choogirl

LetThemEatCake · 09/01/2010 00:18

MM - are you back already?? have missed you. How was Italy? how is your pg friend?

Choogirl - very good call, thank you!

noddyholder - I never had one

Zembo - I like that one!! Out of stock!

Millie1 - I love Cavallini, check out bohemiadesign.com for lots of their stuff, I've got a discount code floating around somewhere, will post it.

Aning - oh my goodness, I don't even know what to say. You obviously think I am an extravagant idiot (I like the little jab in the ribs about my screen name ) but that someone could think that I would be so extravagant and so idiotic as to spend more on customisation of an item than the item itself is

What's worse, however, is that anyone could think that I would have something customised with such a crappy, crass header. The thought of taking my beautiful diary out of my bag and seeing those words splashed across it! Oh dear. To conclude: I was joking. Being silly. Flippant.

I think I'll stick with the dull but eminently more sensible option of "2010". That'll be £8. Could do my name for another tenner. Probably won't.

Re Moleskine - I find that the paper is not thick enough and ink bleeds through. Do any of these dairies have thick enough paper for a fountain pen?

I too love stationery and have way too many notebooks.

MrsSeanBean · 09/01/2010 01:35

Paper Smythson make a point of their 'featherweight' paper being thick enough for use with fountain pens - and I can vouch for it!

tulpe · 09/01/2010 12:01

Yep - second vote for use of fountain pens with Smythson stationery

monkeysmama · 10/01/2010 14:09

I had a Smythson diary last year and used my fountain pen with it every day. I use Moleskine reporter notebooks too though and don't have a problem with my fountain pen leaking through that perhaps that depends on the pen and ink colour.

Hey LTEC - got back days later than planned due to problems at Gatwick but there are worse places to be stuck . PG friend blooming. Had a wonderful time and a bit to be back.
