So if UGG type boots are uncool what do you wear in the cold/snow?

I used to have a pair of really toasty warm UGG type boots from Just Sheepskin company that I wore in the snow etc as I have long walks to work and school run etc but they seem to have disappeared! I want to buy something to replace them that has a decent sole so I won't end up flat on my face but that are really warm and don't look too bad for work/en route. Any ideas?

Well I must admit to not living in a very snowy place, but I might get to test drive them in the snow next week when I come to the UK. I reckon if you scotchguard them they'd be ok. The have chunky sole and fleecy lining.

duo boots do one with the furry lining i have them. they are the more casual ones in a waxed leather style. will find out the name.

mmelindt, the cat boots are really wide round the top and kind of open out, they would fit everyone. Go on you know you want them!

Ugg boots are lethal on slippery roads. Walking boots are warmer and better IMO

the problem with ugg boots is that they are not water proof. and if you are just running back and forth fashion isnt that important... function is. I would go with a boot that is waterproof

tiredfeet · 18/12/2009 16:38

I just wear wellies and big thick woolly socks, waterproof and warm probably look like a fool, but at least I'm warm and dry

I have had a couple of pairs of the rocket dog boots. The first pair I had weren't very true to size so I needed to go a size up, but the pair I buoght recently they had definitely changed the sizing and they are true to size.

I had my dark brown ones on in the snow today and they were fine.

Snowboots.

If you're still worrying about your warm feet being uncool, it isn't cold enough!

It was -15 when I dropped dd1 off at school this morning. I put my feet into snow boots this morning, and havent taken them out since, at one point they were the only part of my body that wasnt freezing, as I hopped between my car and office.

i bought a chelsea boot from Clarks (Orinoco is the style) that have a smallish heel but great non slip sole, and (most important) wear them with thermal socks. good in the wet. i reckon Clarks will have them on sale in Jan.

I've just ordered the CAT boots too, you ladies have started a trend!

I've been looking for some boots for running round with DS in the mud, these look perfect and a brilliant price too, thanks!
