Has anyone got it?

If not what do we think of it?

(Considering for Christmas wear if reduced in the sale.)

I don't like it - it's very high necked

ilovejonty · 05/12/2009 10:30

Did you buy it soupdragon or do you just reckon it looks dodgy?

notyummy · 05/12/2009 10:33

I actually quite like it, but think it depends on your figure. With big boobs I think it could look a bit matronly. Also, looks a bit summery - what tights and shoes would you wear with it?

purplepeony · 05/12/2009 10:34

I am dithering over buying it- some peeps here say it is nice others say the material is rubbish.
Not sure whether to wait for sale, or buy now then re-buy in sale if cheaper!

Agree the neck is high though.

ilovejonty · 05/12/2009 10:37

Hmm. I quite like the high neck - why would this be a problem?

I would wear it with purple opaque tights (am planning on the moss green / purple print) and mary jane style shoes, with a little cropped cardi over the top, plus dangly earrings (no necklace because of high neckline).

anyone got a code better than 10%

notyummy · 05/12/2009 10:42

High neck no problem unless big norks, when sometimes a high neckline can give you a 'shelf' that doesn't flatter.

As a 34a (sometimes AA!!) it is not something I usually worry about....

ilovejonty · 05/12/2009 10:50

I don't know if I am considered large busted or not - I have small chest measurement (32) but large cup (d) - see pics on my profile for a bit - tell me!

notyummy · 05/12/2009 10:52

Would have thought you would be fine as your back is quite small, which helps. The only way is to order and try!

SoupDragon · 05/12/2009 11:31

Sorry no, I've not bought it, I just don't like the neckline.

tulpe · 05/12/2009 12:56

I have it. I wear it with either brown or purple opaques, ballet flats, boots or mary-janes. Layer it up with long sleeve tee beneath (cream, purple or brown look fab). Also wear with bright violet or magenta cardi.

Don't bother with any other accessories. It would be overkill with the patterned version.

rubyblueslippers · 05/12/2009 14:16

I have it and love it. I have the moss green/purple version and like others I wear it with opaques, mary-janes and a little cardi. No accessories.

The only problem I have is that it is dry-clean only which is a real pain in the arse and has limited how often I wear it.

The high neck is no problem but I agree you need to be fairly flat-chested otherwise it would look a bit odd.

purplepeony · 05/12/2009 15:06

still dithering.
The material looks like flannel or winciette!!, not silky at all- is this so?

ShutUpandDrinkYourMulledWine · 05/12/2009 15:08

is that what carrie's wearing in the milliband photo?

purplepeony · 05/12/2009 15:18

yes!

bishboschone · 05/12/2009 15:23

I really like it..would consider it and I am size 8 with 30e boobs..I prefer a higher neck like sometimes cause otherwise people talk to your cleavage.

rubyblueslippers · 05/12/2009 16:45

Purplepeony, it's silky-feeling.

Buy buy buy! It's gorgeous!

purplepeony · 05/12/2009 17:05

okay- have ordered a 10 in the green floral and the purple to see what they are like.
I think the neck will be too high for me- I suit a scoop or V neck best but will see- and maybe re-order in sale if they are 50% oFF, and this order arrives before the 11th!

marthastewart · 05/12/2009 18:55

I have this dress in moss green , it is lovely but I had problems with the zip.

kittya · 06/12/2009 21:24

I love it but it is not worth te £89. I wear the green with a pink cardigan. I have a large bust but I still find it flattering. The zip is useless though and you have to get some one to help!!

It looks fab actually- really like the purple... but there's no 10s or 12s left

OllieWollieWoo · 07/12/2009 08:21

Think CarrieMumsnet (???) is wearing the green one on the pic with Ed Milliband on the MN home page - thought the colour really suited her. I have been hummy and ahhing over this dress for ages but am waiting for the sale - if its meant to be and all that....!

purplepeony · 09/12/2009 16:30

just taken delivery...

not sure is the answer.
would not pay full price but did get 20% off.

will dither and might re order in sale if cheaper.

don't think the moss suits me. Purple is better.
Both seem a little baggy round the bust in size 10 but an 8 might be too small.

DrNortherner · 09/12/2009 16:45

I don't like the neck line - vety unflattering
