Plus Erin is a couture model and much better at the haughty look, m&s was a bit of a stretch. But hey hopefully they paid more..

LetThemEatCake · 03/12/2009 23:45

Fair enough HerB

I'm Australian and had never heard of her until she ensnared 'our Michael' so I doubtless have a very jaundiced and unfair view. But I don't see that she could ever have been considered attractive, Hutchence or no Hutchence

And, now that I think about it, I have a similar reaction when people say that they it's easy to see why brad chose ange over jen "what! That humourless vampirish shemale over bright, funny, quirky Jen! How dare you!

I just can't imagine that AJ would be any fun But maybe I'm also confusing JA with her character on Friends...

Anyway, apologies

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 04/12/2009 00:05

Helena Christensen is beautiful. I have alwasy been deeply envious of her as she got to roll around on a beach with Chris Isaak in the video for "Wicked Game"

UnquietDad · 04/12/2009 00:08

I actually can believe she hasn't been retouched. Because, let's face it, she didn't just step put of bed on to the cover. If Mrs Cole spends an annual six-figure sum on her appearance, as we are led to believe, then I'm sure models spend at least as much. It could be that she looks "naturally" fantastic. But that there is a lot more behind that "naturally" than we know.

WilfSell · 04/12/2009 00:14

I thought Hutchence was famously heard to have ditched Christiansen cos she was thick and dull, like many moggles? Paula Yates much more interesting.

Makes me feel better anyhow.

LetThemEatCake · 04/12/2009 00:19

Not sure but can imagine HC not edgy enough for MH - who, let's face it, was hardly a class act either. Like attracts like and all that

AitchTwoToTangOh · 04/12/2009 00:27

i know a DISGUSTING story about py and mh

WilfSell · 04/12/2009 00:28

spill aitch...

AitchTwoToTangOh · 04/12/2009 00:35

best friend of a very good friend hung out with them in sydney, lotsa drugs. he liked to stick his hand up her vagina while sitting on sofa chatting to guests. when someone bravely ahem-ed about this mh launched into a lovely story about how he likes to fist her while taking her up the arse so that he could feel his own cock with his hand. paula giggled demurely throughout. bleh.

she wasn't rough, though, bless her, not before she met him. she was sparky and funny and troubled.

purplepeony · 04/12/2009 08:45

well sorry ladies, but I am 50+ and my legs could just about pass like hers- maybe not so long but certainly as toned- walking 3 miles a dayup hills helps as does doing lunges and squats.

Am I allowed to nominate that as the most thing I have ever read on here, Aitch.

Do love the added "she wasn't rough, though, bless her"

AvrilH · 04/12/2009 09:33

I can believe there was very little retouching - as has been said, she spends a fortune on looking that way, and will have long, perfectly toned legs

She will also be wearing a lot of make up - even on her legs, the lighting adjusted to perfection and exactly the right lenses used.

SkipToMyLou · 04/12/2009 09:57

So it's amazing if you look good at 41?

UnquietDad · 04/12/2009 09:59

Yes, "Woman is 41 and not half-dead" shocker.

MaggieNollaig · 04/12/2009 10:15

People's perception of what 41 looks like is so wrong.

I said this watching 10 years younger the other night. The young people on the street (under 25) couldn't say an age over 40 for any smart, slim, attractive well-dressed woman.

The programme-makers get hold of a woman who is 55, but looks 75, and imo, although they make her look fabulous, she usually still looks close to her age.

But if she doesn't look like a corpse then she must be under 40!!! according to the teenagers on the streets of woking...

MaggieNollaig · 04/12/2009 10:17

Aitch, how did you even type that! I wish I didn't know that. [big prude]

AitchTwoToTangOh · 04/12/2009 10:22

it was late at night and wilfsell made me.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 04/12/2009 10:23

(although he did wank himself to death so you could have guessed that it might offend i suppose, if you are a big prude. )

are you one of the gaidhlig mums then?

MaggieNollaig · 04/12/2009 10:32

I was gutted when he died, really upset. I saw him in concert in Dublin when I was 22, so I felt like I knew him.

What's a gaidhlig mum? is that a hifalutin' spellin' of gaelic??

MaggieNollaig · 04/12/2009 10:34

ah yes, comrpendo anois. I forgot my own screen name!!

AitchTwoToTangOh · 04/12/2009 10:38

tsk.
afaik he was a durty, durty, durty boy. kept trying to shag friend's gf etc. in front of friend. actually mounting her. no boundaries.

a few of my pals went to the funeral, that was odd, watching it on tv and going 'oooh look there's x, aaaw, he's pretending to cry etc'.

MaggieNollaig · 04/12/2009 10:40

yeah filtee dooorty he was. makes colin farrell look wholesome.

are you an ossie? your friends went to the funeral? I'm strangely jealous of that!

AitchTwoToTangOh · 04/12/2009 10:42

nope, but i did the whole 'piss off to oz and states for a year' thing when in retrospect i should have been paying attention to my career.

MaggieNollaig · 04/12/2009 10:47

ah yeah, at least you have your memories though! I was made redundant at 27 and my housemate was about to go off travelling. she said, come with me and I said no I'm too old. I've regretted that ever since. She was only about 18 months younger than me!
