Just ordered an iPhone and am looking at what protection to get. Thought this privacy film thing was quite good but what do you have?

I have a Shinnorie flip case thingie. It opens up easily and quickly but surrounds the whole phone when not in use. I love my iPhone. It must never be damaged.

IrritableGrizzly · 26/11/2009 06:00

Oops forgot link

here

Mine is the one at the bottom, but there are fancier ones.

faustina · 26/11/2009 06:00

I have a leather Senca (?) one that flips open. Do get something good. I dropped mine, cracked the screen, and it cost 150 quid to fix. Nightmare.

monkeysmama · 26/11/2009 06:02

I couldn't decide which one to buy & didn't get one in the end. My beautiful phone is now scratched & the microphone bit plays up sometimes. iPhones are great but be warned-it could take over your life!

IrritableGrizzly · 26/11/2009 06:02

Oh Kerrist, having looked at your link I see I'm talking about totally different subject. I'll get me coat..

CocoaCloset · 26/11/2009 06:02

I've hanot used one for the last year as haven't liked any, luckily no damage so far. I now have my eye on the new Mulberry range of iphone cases and have asked dh for one for Christmas.

BlueKangerooWonders · 26/11/2009 06:40

Whatever cover, make sure you get plenty of film for front and back. All my dc love my iphone and I'm happy for them to use it, but hate their sticky fingers!

My only problem with various covers I've tried is that sometimes the cover gets v slightly in the way of the space bar when texting, so predictive text goes all awry (though could also be my typing...)

I have these:

[http://www.amazon.co.uk/SCREEN-SCRATCH-PROTECTOR-Apple-iPhone/dp/B001LNW2U6/ref=sr_1_1?ie =UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1259219337&sr=8-1]]

and

I don't like the bulk of the leather-type cases, and this one you can hardly tell thee's a case there. Won't help if I drop it, but does stop it getting scratched

YohoAhoy · 26/11/2009 07:11

Bah, preview, woman, preview!

I have the Speck Candyshell, which is routinely rated the highest for Iphone cases by various tech nerd magazines, was recommended to me by tech nerd friend.

it's brilliant.

MrsBadger · 26/11/2009 11:50

screen protector film as suggested below

my normal handbag has a suedey phone pocket so normally that's all I need but for gym bag, nappy bag etc I use a cheapy knitted phonesock to keep it away from my keys

MissAnthrope · 26/11/2009 12:10

Another vote here for the Speck hard case. I have one in blue, and it's brilliant.

JokingAside · 27/11/2009 01:42

IG no need to get your coat! I trying to find out what everyone else has got for protection.

Think I would like a thin leather case that opens like a book but can't find anything like this...

Is the speck very bulky/heavy?

OP posts:
roary · 27/11/2009 12:15

I find my Speck to be very light and not at all bulky. It does increase the width of the phone a bit but not so that you'd really notice.

faustina · 27/11/2009 13:42

here's one like mine - think it's the kind you want too

Dp and I ordered our iphones for Christmas presents to each other, yesterday! Am super excited. We have got these cases: store.apple.com/uk/product/TS502LL/A?n=iphone3&fnode=MTY1NDA0NA&mco=MTU1OTYxMTM&p=1&s=topSellers

When we got them out of the box we were shocked at how tiny and light they are - just a thin piece of plastic really. God only knows how they can justify charging £25 for them! That said, we wanted cases that did not spoil the look of the phone. Ours are see through clear plastic, so it does not look like the phone has a case on it. Should protect from scratches and minor knocks/bumps hopefully.

I got some screen protective films for mine too. When phone is not in use the film makes it look like a mirror, so am planning to do my make up in it.....

can't wait till crimbo day now to get it!
