Eh? I thought it was very good as it happens, I think they need a complete overhaul, especially with underwear. I am not a peculiar size, so why do none of the bras fit??

MmeLindt · 24/11/2009 17:27

Very well written, I agree with every word.

wahwah · 24/11/2009 17:31

Pretty good. I like what Marks have done, but I wish they'd go a bit further with ethical and environmental considerations.

I find their sizing a bit dumpy and not very much for anyone over 5'7', everything is fitted to the waist which is about an inch too high for me.

However, recently I got a gorgeous Autograph pencil skirt which was beautifully made and fits really well. I only wish they'd charged an extra tenner and spent that on fabric quality. Can't complain about the food and their sandwiches are a lunchtime staple. Wasabi peas and fondant fancies rule for me.

Leah's dead right about almost everything there. If I was giving the new boy three things to do first, it'd be stop cramming the rails so full, get the staff to bloody well cheer up and start helping customers, and get rid of the awful office lighting.

cocolepew · 24/11/2009 17:37

They need to sort out their sizing. My mum had to try on trousers the same style as she'd already got, because the lengths varied so much. They were all the same style and leg length, if it's 27" make it 27" not 28 1/2".

Themasterandmargaritas · 24/11/2009 17:37

Good old Leah, tell it like it is.

The kids stuff is just so goddamn awful I only ever buy school uniform from there anymore.

cornsilkwearscorsets · 24/11/2009 17:37

I want a link to the LK bennet-like shoes.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 24/11/2009 17:43

And why are so many of their shoes made of plastic?

DanDruff · 24/11/2009 17:44

hold on

badietbuddy · 24/11/2009 17:45

badietbuddy · 24/11/2009 17:46

DanDruff · 24/11/2009 17:46

i know i hate them too kitten heels but they are incoming trendwise

CybilLiberty · 24/11/2009 17:47

Marks has become complacent and stuck in its ways.

I agree there are a few 'gems' to be found (I usually rely on Dandruff to source them for me as I can't be arsed).

The staff are TERRIBLE. Those awful polo shirts they have to wear, and thei attitude stinks most of the time. It's like we should be grateful they are serving us, as the are the mighty M and S.

BUT they can't start to be like a dept store or a boutique without a MAJOR overhaul which would risk alienating a lot of their aged customers. The layouts would have to be changed and all the staff lined up and shot.

cocolepew · 24/11/2009 17:47

They're vile

DanDruff · 24/11/2009 17:47

those high ones areVERY lk bennet

cocolepew · 24/11/2009 17:47

The shoes, that is.

CybilLiberty · 24/11/2009 17:49

coco I'm orf to se Michael Macintyre tonight

DanDruff · 24/11/2009 17:49

yes i agree
its something for everyone.
I htink they need to put all teh plus sizes in a special area to thin the racks down

CybilLiberty · 24/11/2009 17:49

And anything with an elasticated waistband

DanDruff · 24/11/2009 17:49

they do have the delicious sequin skirt

badietbuddy · 24/11/2009 17:50

My idea of hell is bra shopping in M and S. Really. I have to take ds with me, and the only large changing room they had was full of boxed stock. Which noone attempted to move as they tried to usher me into a teeny one that my beast of a pushchair had no chance in. Then there is the needless bloody frills they seem to like on an otherwise fine t shirt bra, and the fasct that if you're over a D you are considered some kind of freak who must only want granny bras.

OP posts:
DanDruff · 24/11/2009 17:53

no thebras that are padded on an E cup

wtf?

cocolepew · 24/11/2009 17:57

Ohhh lucky you, you'll have a great time.

I've got tickets for Dara O'Briain for next May. I usually watch him with subtitles on, not sure if he'll hold up wee cards with the words on for me or not.
