Eh? I thought it was very good as it happens, I think they need a complete overhaul, especially with underwear. I am not a peculiar size, so why do none of the bras fit??

oh pointy, I had hoped that link would show me something worth buying in M&S. But that cowl neck with my 36FFs would look rather alarming.

Found a lovely jersey dress in Phase 8 the other day (20% off too). Sadly what looked like a lovely pattern transformed into a great big circle like a target over my right tit. I couldn't work out if I was being daft or what so asked someone else in the changing room who said, oh, I hadn't noticed - then saw the mirror image at the end of the room instead of me two feet away and said 'ah, I see what you mean!'

DanDruff · 24/11/2009 22:51

they did havea nic sweater dress in phase 8 - i tired it on

cocolepew · 24/11/2009 22:53

Oh. It was the same one. It's much nicer in grey.

DanDruff · 24/11/2009 22:54

yes
when its COLDER I wil wear.

AitchTwoToTangOh · 24/11/2009 22:59

you should go and get measured at marksies, edam, you're probably only a 40dd there.

DanDruff · 24/11/2009 23:00

you will have breasts like AListair sim

Ronaldinhio · 24/11/2009 23:04

you cannot be serious

(throws away headband)

m&s shit for all things norkily involved but some other decent stuff...just not instore

unless you are in town and need a wee

edam · 24/11/2009 23:09

Blimey Dan, I mentioned Phase 8 with some hesitance, thinking you'd pour scorn on me for being middle-aged or something.

Breast target thing really was quite striking, though. V. irritating as on the way out I saw someone else trying on the same dress only in a smaller size and it didn't do the same thing to her at all.

edam · 24/11/2009 23:10

(Aitch - I wised up to M&S bizarre bra sizing policy years ago, they won't catch me out!)

Ronaldinhio · 24/11/2009 23:15

edam i thought phsae 8 was a mother of the bride affaire is it worth the look?

cornsilkwearscorsets · 25/11/2009 06:52

Ron - don't waste yer time in phase 8.

DanDruff · 25/11/2009 07:54

not really
nice jewllery
just this ONE sweater dress that int eh end looked cack on top half

edam · 25/11/2009 09:15

I think it's worth a look but Dan's right, I'm tempted in but rarely find anything I actually want to try on.

edam · 25/11/2009 09:15

It's a bit Monsoon-y only less hippy.

pointydogg · 25/11/2009 16:57

edam, my pert bangers (cringe cringe cringe at gokism) look quite lovely in a cowl

cornsilkwearscorsets · 25/11/2009 17:42

I think phase eight is a bit Coasty. I do like the fit of the jackie dress but haven't bought one. I might if I see one in the sale.

TsarChasm · 25/11/2009 17:45

Haven't read all this, but agree re the make-up. That's needs better presentation and less old laydeeee gift sets.

DarrellRivers · 25/11/2009 18:02

Phase 8 better than Coast if you prefer not to have acres of cleavage on display
Coast only has strapless dresses which can be distressing to the well-endowed (plus scary for people who lost the top half of their dress at their first ball)
Phase 8 has some lovely evening stuff and shoes as well

DanDruff · 25/11/2009 18:02

oh yes pelase cna there be a gmt age limit on strapless gowns

DarrellRivers · 25/11/2009 18:03

Freaks me out seeing acres of my own cleavage and torso

DarrellRivers · 25/11/2009 18:06

I like this purple dress to the left of the picture
Website could be better to navigate though, can't find the dress apart from in that picture

FabIsVeryLucky · 25/11/2009 18:07

Some of it was true but I didn't think it was that good a piece of writing tbh.

MaggieBelle · 25/11/2009 18:15

I love the m&s cafe in my local m&s it's like the set of abigail's party. loads of fabulous orange lamps, and things that look like hostess trolleys.. are they all the same?

the bra thing is funny. They measure you and tell you you're something hattie jakes style like a 40GG when you normally wear a 34c bra. And I don't have 4 boob syndrome. or back folds, I'd know.

edam · 25/11/2009 22:35

I think the one I tried on might have been this but can't quite remember.

Now I look at it again, I'm quite relieved I didn't buy it!

purplepeony · 26/11/2009 09:14

I think they need to get their stock control sorted- I often shop at Marble Arch store and they rarely have my size in all bras- 32C- and when i try the website there are none there either. I recently tried to order 3 bras online as they are doing 3 for 2 at the moment- and every single bra I wanted was OUT OF STOCK!

M&S PLEASE NOTE!!!!
