Your dressing-gown, while everybody else does the work

Blimey- 39 weeks at Xmas, that went in the blink of an eye, didn't it?

Pinkjenny · 18/11/2009 15:04

I know BoF. Finish work on Friday, it's all really rather traumatic.

I have an unfortunately glamorous family, the dressing gown won't cut it. Although my nan has bought me a gorgeous white velour one from the White Company for Christmas. Perhaps I could wear it just to show her how much I like it>

I fear it won't do up though. Don't want to put people off their turkey.

hehehe

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 15:16

Argh I was trying to avoid S&B as I'm way too poor at the moment.

(puts credit card in a block of ice in freezer)

Right I'm thinking slouchy dress, over the knee and some gorgeous crochet hold ups.

Hmmmm

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 15:18

this could be cute with leggings and a long sleeved top under?

Or do you want more sparkly

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 15:19

www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=19551&s toreId=12556&categoryId=42395&parentcategoryrn=42391&productId=1363862&langId=-1 also nice

but pmsl at this on the topshop site 'maternity body con dress'

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 15:19

and eeep what a stress! I can't imagine christmas withut baileys and red wine.

Pinkjenny · 18/11/2009 15:20

Slouchy dress sounds great. I may be a little bit fat big for hold ups, but perhaps over long leggings.

Sorry to lure you back into the den of iniquity. I am desperate to not look like a beached whale and have people pitying me all day.

The navy one is nice. I have put so much weight on this pg, mainly due to stuffing my face. I am imagining I will be all bloated and puffy by then as well.

Still, it'll give everyone a laugh. I did find a nice tunic in Next but sadly it has been removed from the website, for some random reason.

Loads at asos

www.asos.com/Women/Maternity/Dresses/Cat/pgecategory.aspx?cid=8343

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 15:26

with leggings?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 15:27

You won't be bloated and puffy you'll be gorgeous and glowing. promise.

I hope DH/ family are doing the dinner though!

Pinkjenny · 18/11/2009 15:29

I've just sent a picture of the embellished smock dress (£38) and the navy blue bubble hem dress (£28) to my friend. It's more the full term bump that'll be the problem, I think. The lurex one is lovely but possibly my breasts are too big for that.

The other problem with asos is that stupid bloody blonde model is NOT PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 15:31

Ah yes Isabella oliver often do the same, it's just a size 8 girl sticking her salad and water bloated tummy out.

Pinkjenny · 18/11/2009 15:33

It is bloody infuriating, as you get no idea at all of the cut. Although I do accept that most things will not be cut for whales.

You need to check the returns policy, then order, try on (whilst sticking out your belly to 39 week proportions) and send back the duff ones.

I'm trying to think where my friend got her dress for a wedding last month, she was 35 weeks and was the best dressed there.

I shall text her.

Pinkjenny · 18/11/2009 15:37

Oooh great, thanks. You see, this is why you must never leave MN.

Here I am....hang on will have a look..

TheGreatScootini · 18/11/2009 15:44

I like that red ruffle dress at Toppers, and also the animal ruched one.

Pinkjenny · 18/11/2009 15:45

Yes, I like the red one too, but don't you think my breasts are too humungous for that neckline.

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 18/11/2009 15:47

Why didn't you ask me for style advice I wonder?

TheGreatScootini · 18/11/2009 15:47

But that bubble hem one is the best.Lovely.Plus you can probably wear it afterwards as well if you should happen to go out in the first month or two.

Bear in mind though that I spent all of the Christmas Day when Lils was due wearing a TENS machine which detracted from my outfit somewhat.

Cant believe you are finishing work on Friday, its gone so fast!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 15:47

this

minus the belt

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 15:49

If it fits would be lovely, then you could wear it post bump too

tbh I only ever bought one maternity dress I just shopped around for loose or jerseyish things

Pinkjenny · 18/11/2009 15:50

That link doesn't work, DWP.

SOH - don't be cross. I save my neuroses for you, my dear.

Scoot - yes, I like that bubble hem one too. And I am wearing heels, goddamit.
