why do you all hate fake tan??!!

....i have noticed in the "vile trends of the noughties" thread lots of you seem to dislike fake tan!

and i was just wondering why?? as we are all aware these days, real tans are not a good thing at all, they are dangerous (risk of skin cancer) and very very ageing. i just can't understand why people would rather risk their life and looks to get a real tan when fake tans these days are so good?

personally, i think fake tan is a brilliant invention, i am a BIG FAN! i don't go overboard with it and the kind i use looks very natural.

i do agree that the orange look is terrible though. but I think that comes from really awful cheap varieties of fake tan.

Fake tan is a fabulous invention as long as you dont over do it and you know how to put it on correctly

Okay Ruby - I concede defeat. I still don't like it though and of the people that I 'do' know use it, I think it doesn't look natural.

ok I'm going to be frank and will probably be told off, but I just always think of fake tan as being in the same category as smoking - irretrievably downmarket. Sorry.

God, I bloody love my Clinique self tan. Totally part of my normal beauty routine, and has been for years. Real tans are horrific. Leather skin? No thanks. And pale is only interesting if you have that lovely, smooth porcelain skin. Corned beef legs aren't cool.

Yes but nobody sensible has bare legs when the weather conditions are such that corn-beef legs would be the result. Agree that's hideous.

Tights with open toes?
