I can't believe she likes that skirt! It looks like it ought to be on a stage bobbing around behind Michael Flately.

Pretty good article apart from the sale vigil is on the morning of the sale not the night before.

Also she did choose very 'boden' things but I liked the dress and have it on order myself. The hotchpotch one that is in navy - will now be expelled from S&B threads for writing hotchpotch.

No- she doesn't like the skirt if youread it- the skirt and the cardi and 2 things she "wouldn't be seen dead in".

Great advert for Johnnie though - bet she gets some freebies!

Oh yes, have read the article now.

Just a quick skim through last night and a read of the captions under the photos. "Trying it on: Leah Hardy finds the Boden boots and skirt a hit but the patterned cardigan a miss." Caption writer obviously suffering from skirt confusion.

It just shows the power of marketing doesn't it- we buy a lifestyle, or JB tries to make us.

I don't give a FF about lifestyle, I just buy the bits I like and none of them has a pattern!

I was surprised at the income bracket he described for his typical customer. I expected it to be double that, considering the prices.

They picked very ..er Bodenesque clothes to feature.

More an advert than an article, Leah Hardy ought to get a wardrobe-full of clothes out of it. Folow-up advert articles for Duo boots, Brora and London Fly?

I think they took the usual income bracket and deducted £20K to make it look more credit crunch friendly.

Agree with Purplepeony. The range is full of atypical Boden items - things you wouldn't automatically assume are from there. And those are generally the things I buy too.

However, even if people do recognise a dress as Boden, why is that a problem? We don't have the same attitude to mums who are clearly wearing Top Shop or Primark. And yes, I know they don't sell a lifestyle as such but I don't get the "shame" of being outed as a Boden wearer. But perhaps that's because I am rarely a head to toe wearer of Boden and I mix it with Top Shop anyway?

Clearly the journo has no style anyway. She totally ruined the look of the rainbow coat she tried on by teaming with black opaques and shoes. Ditto the floral dress she tried. Add some colour, FFS.

BTW, even though I am a Boden customer I am very definitely left wing. Sorry to shatter Johnnie's illusions but I wouldn't vote Tory in a million years. Or did I mis-read that and it's conservative with a small "c"?

oh for gods sake who would wear that cardi and skirt combo and that dress on the wee girl is minging i like the mans jacket my dh would wear that Johnny i may love your clothes but youll never get me to vote conservative and as for the household income i wish!

Yes I saw this. Jeez I wish Tescos would not give that free paper. When he asks for any bags to recycle next week I will give him the paper. More fool me for opening the bloody thing I suppose. Should have shoved it straight in the cat litter tray. Apparently now we can also create babies with no man or woman needed.
God give me strength.

Getting a free Daily Mail is a good reason not to shop at Tesco, amongst others.

Ocado give you a free Times and though it's one of the papers to which we subscribe, I actually think it's wrong for a grocery order to come with a 'free' paper as they carry quite definite political views.

It's one for another thread really isn't it?
